3 things.
1: You can both denounce the depiction of violence in a game and be aware of the *fact* that there is no link between videogame violence and real life violence (despite people with an agenda hunting to prove that there is for 3 decades now.) Those aren't mutually exclusive or hypocritical statements.
2: Not everybody has the time or energy to be equally upset about every injustice that impacts every group. This is (at least hypothetically if not nec...
Final Fantasy 7? Final Fantasy 10? Any game set in WW2. Deus Ex. Fallout. The Outer Worlds. Greedfall. Life is Strange. Pillars of Eternity. Shadowrun. Knights of the Old Republic. Valkyria Chronicles. Xcom. Skies of Arcadia. Final Fantasy 14. Darkest Dungeon. Persona. Dragon Age.
The point of this list is that not only is it highly likely you own at least one of those highly political games, but in case you don't, I can *garuntee* you that you own a politically charge...
Again, there are *only 2* gay guys in the whole game. So that is litterally the only thing Persona 5 every shows gay men to be. So yes, the implication is that it's all gay guys. And wether or not you think Yuskue is gay because he's stereotypically artistic isn't relevant, *the game* never even implies he's gay.
Also, they're *preying* on Ryuji. He's *trying* to tell them no and get away from them, and they basically assault him.
...
It's not "homophobic," it's homophobic. When there are exactly 2 known gay people in your game, and they're both shown attempting to prey on like 15 year olds, that's homophobic. The implication is that all gay people do that.
It does not actually matter if they intended to give that impression or not.
But, also, we have plenty of reason to think they *did* intend to give that impression. Atlus has a long and well documented history of homophobia an...
The combat in ME2 and 3 is friggin boring. They basically streamlined all the fun out of it by turning it into gears of war and locking off all your powers until the enemies shields were down (at which point most anything you do would 1shot them anyways) when what they should have done is lean into the physics manipulation side of the combat and let the player spend the whole trilogy coming up with new and interesting ways to win fights.
Racing game communities tend to be abnormally sensative to pay-to-win mechanics or making people pay for customization, cus, like, games with full blown livery editors so you can make you car look like whatever you want have been a thing since the early 2000s, so if they tried it they'd be litterally taking a standard feature out of the game, and then attempting to sell it back to you.
The Forza series already tried this, as did Need for Speed actually, and it went *so...
On a similar note, let me pick which language/s I download in. I only need english and very occasionally I'll want japanese, but *usually* the extra languages are just ~10-15 gigs of wasted space. Even if it's not the defualt way to download and I have to go find a setting somewhere, that's fine, it'll still help a lot.
It essentially can't. It requires a quite decent desktop CPU to function properly in a lot of games (and some of the ones with more challenging engines still tend to run slowly if you aren't on an absolute monster.)
Trying to run it on an android device would just bog down the device while the emulator would run at half speed or less.
And they're not all over the place when you spend a thousand extra dollars on 3 extra consoles instead of spending maybe 50 tops on a launcher (if you get a *really* fancy one instead of just a free one that works fine.)
Get a launcher.
Launchbox, Hyperspin, something like that.
Or just have the GOG launcher auto-detect your UPLAY/Epic/Steam/Origin games and it can handle launching those along with your GOG games. The "multiple platforms" thing has been an issue for people who use emulators for *ages,* and there are lots of solutions floating around to put all your games in 1 place.
Are you like 18? Let me give you a history lesson.
We see very few demos because companies have realized there's not much profit in it. It might even hurt sales. Some % of people will inevitably play it and either have had enough of the experience and not buy it, or decide it's not something they're interested in after all, on top of the demo itself costing time and money to make. That's why most major publishers started phasing out demos back in the *PS2* ...
That's actually not true. Like, there have been studies. They suggest fairly strongly that people who pirate things were never actually going to buy it.
Also, like, what do you think modern games are? They're the retro games of 20 years from now. How many digital switch games will be flat out impossible to obtain legal copies of (especially in this increasingly digital age) 20 years from now, when this court case ruling will still be in effect? What then? We just l...
At least *someone* has a good idea ow the tech works.
I was screaming this from the hilltops back when the Xbone was released to make 2 points 1: that you coudln't compare the PS4/XboneX hardware to Nividia hardware based on Tflops, and 2: That we already knew what 6 Tflops looked like on AMDs current archetecture performance wise, and it looks like an RX480/580 with slight overclocks, as an attempt to explian why the Xbone X will very rarily manage 4k/60.
Depends on when exactly we're talking about in NFS history. Forza Horizon is kinda like, simulite, not really an arcade racer. It's not *super* realistic, but a lot of genuine effort goes into making the cars handle a lot like their real life selves, it's just a lot more forgiving.
NFS has almost always been *super* arcadey. It's not just that you *can* drift corners, you *want* to drift corners because it's faster. Long cop chases. regenerating speed boosts...
I'll never forgive EA for almost single handedly oversaturating (and thus, killing) the arcade racer genre, and buying/murdering one of the most prominent devs in the space.
@Rainslacker
There is a character in the vanilla base game who's the subject of transphobic nonsense. Calling her out as "not a woman," dead naming her in the games credits. Stuff like that. It's not cool.
In case you don't know, dead naming using her birth name not her current name, as almost all trans people change their names. Not a lot of trans women are going to keep the name "Timothy" because in the US/EU, that's a guys name,...
10 also has the best paced story, and the best developed character in the series (Yuna) that isn't just a protagonist.
12, however, has a garbage story, stuck between being a political drama and shounen anime nonsense and *both* aspects are dragged down by the presence of the other/ fighting over the overall tone that they do. Not to mention the almost total lack of character development and how poinltess and irritating Vahn and Penello are, having basically nothing at ...
Wreckfest would like a word with you. As would Redout. Maybe even Trackmania.
"only."
Lets pretend he didn't say anything misleading. Cosmetic microtransactions, in game, at launch, is *still* BS. People say "well it doesn't impact gameplay" but they're wrong.
Take your favorite game. Doesn't matter what it is. If it's easier to visualize then pick a mario game. Replace all of the assets with solid white rectangles, with minimal/no animation. Change nothing else. Can we honestly say that has...
Scale is *incredibly* overrated.
If every area had been as tight as the starting location, the game would have been amazing, but it does drag on in some places (mainly Monarch.)
I think it has a couple of main issues that make it just "really good" instead of "amazing."
1: It's too easy to be good at everything. You can have an effective 75+ in just about everything with really minimal effort, and checks that ask for more than that...
