DF are also very clear about engine optimizations form the current gen nnot being in place in their tests and that could mean a world of difference.

Further, no. If it's strictly about gaming you go PC. After all, the PC has both more expensive and cheaper options so you can match whatever price/performance ratio you want. Further, you can't extrapolate the price/performance ratio for Forza into every other game, and you can't assume their improvements won't...

It's also a blatant lie.

The Jaguar CPU is garbage, that is *easly* beat by any decent modern CPU, the only real "struggle" would be the matching the GPU performance, which (even if AMD is, for some reason, hiding 1070 levels of performance in a sub $200 card so the xbox one X can maintin it's price point, which I don't believe ) is still easily gotten to match the X performance without a $1600 PC.

Take a normal 450-600 dollar PC, ...

I feel like the term RPG has been so horribly abused that nobody who hadn't either played pen and paper tabletop games and/or games like Shadowrun Hong Kong and Fallout New Vegas has any idea what a real RPG is and how to distingish between the RPGs and the Action RPGs (hint, it has everything to do with wether you directly control a character in at least somewhat real time combat or control a whole party with indirect commands.)

Dark Souls isn't an RPG. It's an...

Software for anybody. Consoles and online stores take ~30% (give or take) of the money of every sale on their store/through their platform. They're lucky if they even break even on the sales of actual consoles for the first like year or so.

It doesn't actually matter wether they sell software on the Xbox or though the windows store, their cut is similar. Combine that with the fact that the majority of PC gamers aren't buying Xboxes no matter how many exclusives...

Console sales aren't where the money is. Software is where the money is. PC gamers, for the most part, were never going to buy the Xbox, but MS stands to make a lot of money if it can make it's store a legitimate competitor to Steam, and they have exclusives to lure people into the store so they can do just that.

3122d ago 0 agree0 disagreeView comment

Yeah, no.

See, most people aren't made of money. Most people can afford a decent gaming PC (the $450 to $600 range) or a console near its launch, not both. Even if they can technically afford it, that doesn't mean they can justify it when they already have a perfectly good system.

The people who go with the PC side in that choice, are going to go with the PC side regardless of what exclusives the Xbox may or may not have. The only way MS is goin...

Persona 5 is too easy. If you've already played Persona 3 or Persona 4 you're going to blow through the game. Persona 3 and 4 weren't unfairly hard. The first large difficulty spikes are fairly early in the game, they set you up to know you're going to be grinding or hunting golden hands and you're not allowed to run unless the enemies are likely to kill you if you don't. You can not like that setup all you want, but that doesn't make it unfair. That's not even...

Hating on a system is not an issue. Paid online is BS. Forced online is BS. The Jaguar CPU is garbage. I don't have the problem, the people who force that crap do, and there is a reason I don't buy their products (wether they're console manufactrers or not.) It's not to "feel better about mine," it's to push back against the terrible buisness practices people keep allowing to take place and damage the industry for everybody because they support them with their mo...

The article makes a big dumb mistake though. You cannot lump in "people who complain that games are too easy" with "people who are jackwagons to others who play on lower difficulties." The Author is *actively* doing the thing he's complaining about by failing to make that distinction, and does so again by being actively derisive when talking about people who believe the higher degrees of challenge and succeeding after failing for hours is a rewarding way to play.

Skinnerboxes that prey on peoples psycological weaknesses to get them buying things don't work it that thing is quick and easy to get without buying it. Their "leveling system" is the clash of clans timer.

3125d ago 0 agree0 disagreeView comment

It's not my perspective that's that's what they're doing. It's is factually what they're doing. Look up skinnerboxes.

A game is more than just the machanics. The experience of a game is in large part in players heads. For example, early wow had "unrested experience" that was what you got if you played for too long, and players *hated* it. So what did they do? They changed the name. "Normal" became "rested" and "unrested" became normal, and players loved that because they felt it rewarded them for gettiing on every day.

When they hide parts of the ex...

You mean games that deliberately create skinnerboxes and use frustratingly grindy loot systems specifically tuned to drive people to buying lootboxes and preying on psycological addiction mechanisms to keep people buying?

No, no they didn't do it right because (unless the game is free) They *can't* do it right. It's always BS.

The next time your "not real friends" spend several hours comforting you after you break down in tears because some jackass decided it was a good idea to follow you around for an hour talking about how you deserve to be put to death, come tell me about how they aren't real friends.

Funding a game you want to see made so it can be made isn't being a sucker. Projects fail. As long as you keep in mind that it could fail and are OK with that before you give them money you aren't a sucker.

Me too. It's about time AAA games were rescued from the crappy practices of most every AAA publisher.

Come off it. You don't have to replace parts in a year, and you don't have to buy a garbage PSU, and you don't need much in the way of cooling if you have a decent sized case because the G4560 is low fairly power (it's perfectly fine with passive cooling) and video cards generally just don't have heat problems unless you overclock them. Also, just don't buy a 580. Buy a 480 or a 1060 or a 970 or a 390 or a 780. Performance wise, they're all pretty similar. Buying p...

You can do better. Granted, for about 50 extra bucks (in the US.) If you want things like wireless controllers you'll be adding onto the price, and you have to put it together yourself and get a friends copy of windows, but yes.

The primary difference will be that they Jaguar CPU is hot garbage, so for CPU bound games you'll be better off with the G4560. It also has an upgrade path, so you can switch to a last gen i5 or i7 if you get into it/have the budget.

What should kill it for you is that it's being published by EA. They'll never stop their crap if you keep paying them for it.

Hooray, they're giving people 3+ year old games that everyone who wants already has!

Paying for online is a ripoff.
