That depends on the game. There is no way it's doing 60 FPS at any resolution in Fallout or Watchdogs 2, but there is every chance it could do 60fps in games running less complicated games. Many games (say, DOOM) are primarily GPU bound and probably could do at least a fairly consistent 60.

Steam games don't necessarily include DRM, either through Steam or through anyone else. Pillars of Eternity comes to mind first, but I'm positive there are many others that aren't infected with that scourge.

I don't like Dragon quest, and, a very important distinciton, Nier isn't developed by SE. Nier is developed by Platinum, so it's quality is 100% irrelivant to wether or not SE sucks.

By "expert" they mean "functional." The other control scheme is wholly insufficent, especially on any difficulty higher than easy (At least, in every other AC game.) Planes do not steer like cars, attempting to dodge missiles when you can't spin to make those sharp turns is a great recipie for a bad time.

That is simply not true. The CPU still has to process draw calls for the GPU. The CPU still has to process portions of or the entirety of the physics (depending on what they are doing and GPU load.) The CPU still has to keep track of all the objects and collision detection. Modern games on modern engines (Like, say Watchdogs 2) are heavily CPU bound.

The core I5 is both way more expensive and way more powerful than the Jaguar CPU, you could *easily* spend half that on the CPU and 2/3rds of that on the motherboard to save a bunch of money and still beat the performance of the jaguar, and you're adding a 100 dollar windows copy you don't need when you can get one off ebay for 20. Ace Combat is campy, melodramatic military hero stories, and a slightly sim leaning arcadey fighter pilot game. They can take that "AAA to the bone" full blown arcade nonsense and go do something different with it, but it doesn't take the place or proper Ace Combat.
