both look like an average PS2 game on this size video.
Shame about the hair then... ;)
So where are you uncompressing all this data to?
Sony fans can rejoice this in every way possible as far as I am concerned.
Afterall, everything that happened so far has worked against them with so much flac to deal with inc framerates, no. of games, lost exclusives, game delays etc so let me shout the fact that I envy the PS3's Blu-Ray capacity.
and yet still for some reason there are a few ignorant people playing down this obvious advantage saying stupid things like 'I don't care about disc swapping' etc.
...
PS2 must be the best console then. No point living in denial.
I would have liked to see it on all platforms really as it only attracts certain game fans.
I really enjoyed the previous two games and will prob get the 360 version but so far (from the video) it looks the same thing again with even the graphics looking very PS2.
This is not bad of course, but I hope if the extra power of the 360 does not bring new innovation to the title, the levels and possible online functionality does.
Maybe its the 100+ million still waiting to choose a platform that need asking which one they want....
It may seem a bit odd saying this but I found this game to be one of the most technically impressive I have seen PS3 so far.
That does not mean 'photo realistic graphics' or 'super high-res textures' but absolutely, disgustingly, insane amounts of movement and objects on the screen in 1080P @60fps.
I have yet to see it drop a frame but I have expected it plenty of times when things go totally stupid. This review says almost exclusively that it happens, so I can ...
is that a towel rack? :)
The final hours of Chopin sounds nothing like Donald Duck to me.
...and what isn't a clone of something else today anyway?
Either way, optimized code designed in a complex manner to take full advantage of a particular architecture and exploit the strengths of that said platform with a focus on its superior elements will always prove a messy and compromised port.
It is simply too early to give concrete examples of this, but it can certainly be said that the 360 and PS3 share very little compatibility when it comes to showcasing and exploiting each of the units strengths and processing capabilities.

^^
I did not know that the devs had 'one whole year' with the PS3 for Oblivion.
They really got to know the hardware of the PS3 within that whole year that noone else had one I bet.
I am not a fanchild but I do understand that I am very happy with my Nintendo DS games (for example) without the need for vastly superior graphics in most cases.
When said PS3 owners do get an exclusive (that stays an exclusive!) and they like that game in the way I like my DS exclusive, then its all okay really and no amount of horsepower can conjure up a 'superior' 360 version when one simply does not exist.
For the time being, they appear to have made a bigger inv...

If a PS3 lead appeared on the 360 with no loss in any area then it would of course prove your point with that particular game (unless it was tetris!) and I respect that.
However, I cannot imagine the port would be re-engineered and or artistically improved on a low level to be superior than the original lead though for a simultaneous release. (if thats what you meant)
Not really my kind of game but the gore looks good.
Shame about the occasional slowdowns but multiplatform always has one perfect platform while everything else is a compromise is some form or another.
Afterall, they could have upped the detail on the 360 version until it slowed down but they (quite rightly) chose framerate first when creating content. From this, I would bet that the 360 was the lead platform in this case.
If I buy this game, it...
I combined simple maths and I read the link?
(Its a top 20 most wanted and 40% of the titles on the wishlist are PS3 games)
Hope this helps...
Like You am saying for a long time already, MGS4 is coming.
When Konami announce it...
I only hope it doesn't come on 6 DVD's....
A sneeze contains more than nine Gigs nowadays. History is littered with "you will never need more storage than this!" From 10 Megs to today's Terabytes.
40% PS3
20% DS
20% Wii
10% 360
5% PS2
5% PSP
Shame for Sony that sales don't reflect this trend yet but its interesting to see Halo in there.
The 4D only refers to "Time Morphing" and is really a buzz word rather than a real representation. Morphing textures to distress environments over time is impressive but not really that game specific or 4D in scientific terms.
Horsepower is needed for such scenes and maybe the PS3 can provide that but overall its a rather strange and pointless article in game terms.
The Cell will provide some unusual and unique angles in gaming mathematics in the futur...
it must be its superior rendering capabilities :P
