Yeah. Anyway, advertising sells games to the masses, not reviews.
So are the developers saying not to buy their game then? I don't think so. Please do not quote out of context as it is misleading and comes across as negative (I am sure you did not mean that).
I certainly know what ray tracing is and have enjoyed using RT software since the late 1980's including such classics as POV-Ray, Lightwave (Amiga) and 3d studio to name but a few.
I output my PS3 and 360 to the same screen and the differences you describe really do not exist.
The 360's component or VGA output produces a slightly less sharp picture than the PS3. I have calibrated two modes, one for each console so that the blacks, whites, reds, greens and blues match pretty much across the entire spectrum (although both are obviously very different settings to achieve this).
Uncharted and HS both have a very stylistic look (cartoony if you li...
The devs have stated they have gone for a stylistic look and all the textures are hand drawn so it can't be a shock that it does not look that photorealistic but it still looks 'stylistically brilliant' :)
The 1up vids look lots better than these poor VHS quality ones too.
Yeah, you see childrens 'computer graphic' shows that play out like Halo all the time on the TV. I can't watch them because I find them boring but I can play Halo.
I can watch Pixar though and have played more Mario games than I can remember and these same young 'adult' nay-sayers proberly think 90% of gaming history is childish in that case too. Hmm.
If a games got Barney teaching you how to spell, its a kids game.
By calling this game a kids game, you are playing a kids 'Name calling' game yourself.
Please do not consider yourselves as gamers if you have prejudice against anything but FPS because you are a child in an adult world if that is your view. Your comments and replies only amplify your inferiorities but provide great entertainment to the rest of us.
"Anyone who played last year's Xbox 360 game will remember that the frame rate was a serious issue" - seems EA did the best they could on the 360 in its first year too BADBOYEK4 ( http://www.computerandvideo... ).
Whats amazing is that EA can get any game running at 60fps at all. Its all still ported from the Genesis and Snes code didn't you know :)
I've got something thats too big for her DVD9 to take and will make her have problems with her memory..... sorry.
If the consoles are anything like the owners above, I can see why.
Bladestar,
What if a game like Forza or PGR4 had twice the tracks and twice the cars and online play could be on any track with 12 of any car at once?
Would everyone in the lobby be swapping discs to preload the data onto the hard disk before the race started? It is not hard to think of other examples.
It's okay moving from one disc to the next, its when it comes together online or when true open-ended games emerge and lose lineararity that annoying, chaotic ...
....and both consoles have less ram than an entry level pc.
Edit:- In this case I agree with the person who disagreed because they in fact have the SAME amount of RAM and an entry level PC (well a shoddy one with only 512MB of RAM that is!)
I am so impressed with the technical nature of RaC. No tearing whatsoever and real 60fps goodness for the most part and the action is hectic enough that nothing seems to have been sacrificed from storyboard to finished article. The screen bursts with quality.
Also it's good to know that insomniac are being helpful in the PS3 community by helping fellow PS3 programmers with technical issues.
Things can only get better from here too. Well done Insomniac!
Let's face it, both systems have RAM problems because you can never have enough of the stuff. Neither have anywhere near as much RAM as a gaming PC but even PC devs have to make some sacrifices to make the game work well enough for the vast majority of people who don't have 4 gig gaming monsters so that they can sell more than 200 copies.
Maybe the problem here is like trying to make a petrol car run on diesel.
It has not been established this early on the exact way t...
TheWood, You could try Wirecard(.com)
It is a virtual Mastercard. I do not know if this idea still works but PSN stores do not require address details on Mastercard purchases.
I really want this game too and have the same problem so I think I will give it a go and see if it works this afternoon.
Yeah, they might as well just have quoted something for some comic relief instead...
"Investing in diets, investing in the low fat foods gives you no long-term benefits. There's nothing there that you're going to apply to anything else. You're not going to gain anything except a hatred of the clogged arteries fat created", Newell told Edge magazine.
I find it just stops and has no activity (seemingly forever more) but if I pause and resume or switch to another download for a while and then resume, it picks up again for a while before having to repeat.
Only US store does this to me.
I think he would change his mind on the prospects of investing in the PS3's architecture if the PS3 eventually sells units with numbers approaching the PS2.
It may cost stupid to get yourself a framework engine for the PS3 but once it is done, it can be tweaked and refined and expanded for the next game. With the hard part over, and a couple of generations in, the fun may really start to begin.
His statement is of course not a dig at its capabilities but an arrogant,...
Take PS2 sales, add Xbox1 sales, minus 360,PS3 and Wii sales = how silly all this early 'game over' comments and reports really are.
The PS2 is 7 years old and has still been kicking arse. It took 5 years and 9 months for it to sell 100m.
