I have both too and the 360 version does not blow it away - in fact the PS3 is ever-so-slighty better (as the devs stated).
There is a far less 'over the top' Bloom effect for a start which makes the 360 version look like 80's TV show 'Littlest Hobo' and the framerate is more consistent too.
....and no, counting the blades of grass on each version is not comparing them, it's a psychological problem. :)

They seem to have got carried away on that tire smoke don't you think?
Thats about it Rev although if you continuously blink during the slowdowns, you hardly notice it :)
At least it runs pretty smooth for a change. Still feels very botched together and second hand though.
For the real laugh though, try the Harry Potter demo, its been programmed in MS Paint.
If there is an EA room, I bet it runs at 30fps.
This title has slipped under the radar from early news to release without much in the way of hype and that price is crazy considering.
I hope this is a prelude to something bigger but in the mean time it would be nice for Europe get it at the same time but I doubt that will happen.
Originally the PS3 was to simply have 2 Cells but thank goodness they did not! Killzone2 is using this dererred rendering.
Using only the Cell as a benchmark, they tested 5 SPU's against a Geforce 7800 GTX and obtained the following results:-
"We implemented the same algorithm on a high end state of
the art GPU, the NVIDIA GeForce 7800 GTX running in a
Linux workstation. This GPU has 24 fragment shader
pipelines running at 430 Mhz and pr...
lol, and Forza is not a copy of GT is it!
You are right, it doesn't.
The title is misleading when you read the part it refers to:-
"Lair takes advantage of all of the aspects of the PS3: 1080p graphics, 7.1 uncompressed surround sound, an epic musical score, motion control on the SIXAXIS [controller] and enough content to fill 25 gigs, all in the service of telling this fantastic story. This is a game and experience that literally could not have been done on any other system, past or present, and th...
Her hair will not flow like that in the final game but the CGI on the main character (read face) seems only perhaps one generation on from the PS3 retail version.
The in-game rendered cut-scenes are still very good indeed with some of the best lip-sync/acting I have personally seen to this date.
Considering the PS3 has had very few exclusive and hardware-specific games during its infancy (as so many consoles suffer from), its not surprising to have some upset ear...
That game was amazing.
Only a matter of time now till the Spectrum Fanboys get here with Ant Attack to flame ;)
Strange then that Rage comes on 2 DVD's.
'The size of the game's world will be positively huge. Carmack noted during his keynote that the game has about 80GB of uncompressed data, and even compressed it will fill up two full DVDs for the PC, Mac, and Xbox 360 versions, and one Blu-ray disc for the PS3 version.'
Does it for me.
LOL, it did sound alot like that didn't it :)
... and dropping and grabbing and pushing and manipulating, navigating, modelling, texture mapping, playtesting...
I think they were referring to initial experiences.
Being a game developer or level designer is something most electronic entertainment fans have wished for at one time or another. LBP is the 'Youtube' of gaming.
Create, Test, Post, Fame. You can show humor, evil tendencies or artistic prowess. You can make your favorite game into a level using textures from the said game. You could make a working Skatepark, Rally track or Mechanical Computer, your level even has its own scoreboard - allowing people to compete to be top ten mate...
To all with an imagination, creative eye and a thirst for anything but another dreaded game with 'different guns' than the last one, LBP is indeed a system seller.
If you don't get it, tough. LBP is a breath of fresh innovative air and without it and ideas like it, consoles would have either died long ago or would belong only in the hands of people obsessed with shooting everything (which for the 100+ million consumers yet to buy, is suicide inducingly boring and childish)
I wonder if they let someone have it for the weekend.
Not very good for attracting the ladies but great fun anyway.
