I think they count it as 8.5 million because you pay for each individual episode. Evidently people liked it so much they bought each one and jacked up the numbers. That's an incredible set of numbers for an episodic Telltale game, regardless of which numbers you go by.
I kinda liked that though. It sort of strengthened the feeling of the game looking like a moving painting. Of course that's aesthetics, so to each his own.
@TonkatAli
Wait a minute, you'll incessantly call me a fanboy for giving my thoughts on Nintendo, but when you demand someone "stop dissing" the iPad you're in the right?
This community never makes any sense.
As a Zelda fan and as a very big fan of Skyward Sword, I really hope they don't keep the style. One thing I liked about Zelda's evolution is that it has changed into so many cool visual ideas throughout the decades.
They didn't need to stay in a comfort zone, they really don't need to now. Especially since something new is what fans are really looking for (or at least this one in particular).
Dudes, I love Wind Waker. Love it to death. I'm just saying for those expecting the Wii U Zelda tech demo to look the same when it becomes a real game, you probably shouldn't. Nintendo is known for radically changing art styles from tech demo to final product.
Wind Waker tech demo = next generation Ocarina of Time
Zelda Wii U tech demo = next generation Twilight Princess
I don't know. It just makes sense to me.
Why do I get the feeling you wouldn't care either which way?
Sad thing is this article is not really critical. It simply provides two different perspectives interacting in a discussion about the console and its future.
The title is complete garbage; strictly put there for attention and clicks. Please change it and then I will approve.
I'm sure a lot of people asked the same thing about the tech demo that eventually turned into Wind Waker.
@specsmatter
Points that have nothing to do with the topic at hand aside, Bayonetta and Last of Us is a far better comparison than Last of Us and Pikmin 3. Moron.
@shutup
The Last of Us vs Bayonetta 2. Fixed.
"And why not play as someone great instead of a grape?"
You're pretty ignorant. I highly doubt you've ever even played Pikmin before. "DERP I'mma judge the game based on its rating!!!"
You must feel like such a big boy.
@Corrus
There are some problems with your list. The bulk of those games were long into development before Wii U dev kits were released. Resident Evil 6 came out before the Wii U did and Capcom already said they insist on providing newer content as oppose to porting old ones to the Wii U.
GTAV is not confirmed to be skipping the Wii U. Neither is Tomb Raider (in fact, we still need to hear about which Square game is going to the Wii U).
Finall...
@LOL_WUT
Because Ocarina of Time, Wind Waker, Twilight Princess and Skyward Sword all had the same art style. GTFO
In your opinion.
Fixed it for ya.
How about an HD collection of every 3D Zelda thus far? Maybe hires compilations of the 2D games for the 3DS? Just a thought.
"When has Sony expressed their 'grudge' against the second hand market?"
Well, they haven't. But they did put online passes into Twisted Metal, so it seems they're not entirely against the idea of combating the used game market.
Honestly, I doubt Sony would do something like this. But who knows? The industry changes all the time. I've been told that Sony makes patents like these all the time and until they actually implement them...
Simple. I would buy myself a nicely spec'd out PC and stick with my Wii U as my only gaming console. I won't support a console that restricts what games I play to such a dramatic degree, Sony/Microsoft exclusives be damned.
My guess is they will announce something big at E3 and release it on or after the holidays this year. Of course I said the same thing about E3 last year and I was pretty mistaken (unless you count Bayonetta 2 for Wii U as a big announcement).
@Bordel_1900
It must be difficult to make games on brand new (and changing) hardware over the course of eight months?
Fixed.
I don't see why you got so many agrees. The Wii U version the PS3 version is not.
A good example is the technical comparisons between versions that suggested the 360 version was better than the Wii U version also suggested the Wii U version was a little better than the PS3 version.
Finally, I'd like for you to show me even one online shooter that doesn't suffer from at least a few latency problems.
Shouldn't the Wii U win by virtue of having a Wii inside of it? I know it seems like an odd reason, but think about it.
The Wii is just a Wii that plays Wii games (or GCN ones depending on which model) whereas a Wii U is a new console that has a Wii in it (and downloadable GCN games in the future).
And it's an HD console with (so far and slightly) better third party support. But that's just me.
