Possibly. It's not an outcome I would exactly mind. As far as I'm concerned off-screen play is a real innovation, and I wish it had existed back when I was a kid sharing a TV with my folks.
@LOL_WUT
I think it's really sad you think everyone can agree with Pachter of all people.
The moment you make the claim that a developer is outdated because they don't produce M rated material is the moment I tell you not to let the door hit your ass on the way out.
Except the platform doesn't really need saving right now. But yes, a Pokemon game on the Wii U would be interesting.
Well no kidding man. It's a game that was designed ten years ago and had to be started over for different engines multiple times. Take the old design and release it now when the game is finally finished and what do you get? A bunch of antsy reviewers throwing a shitfit because they expected the next Halo or Call of Duty.
People attacked that game for having long corridors, two weapon slots and recharging health. Those features are all prevalent in other shooters and no on...
Man, that hair on that face is so damn off putting.
That's a bit of an exaggeration. I recently downloaded Sonic All-Stars Racing Transformed. The download took all of ten minutes and the install was an additional five. Granted that's a fifteen minute wait time, but still, it's no worse than anything I've endured on my PS3 and still a lot less than your 45 minute wait time. Which game was it for?
I assume you were playing NSMBU? Nintendo Land's multiplayer is better and more engaging for the gamepad player....
Not really. It was a cheaper platform and the Wii remote had everyone wowed at the time. I don't think it's anymore complex than that.
The launch numbers are more decent than that of the 3DS from what I'm understanding. But if the 3DS is anything to go by, a big AAA Nintendo title or two, and its consumer base will increase much more quickly. The same probably applies to the Wii U.
@BattleAxe
I don't see why you felt the need to reply to my comment with this. I was talking about N4G user perception of Wii U articles, not of Wii U sales.
But I'll play along anyway. I don't see how the Wii U can sell numbers nearly that low now that gaming in general has broadened its audience. At worst it has to sell numbers akin to the PS3.
It's a Nintendo platform; it will appeal to Nintendo fans, children and families....
The maps are pretty large. And besides, the graphics are bright and colorful. The battle animations will probably look a little nicer as well.
Of course it won't. Many of the users here only ever gravitate toward negative Wii U articles.
"NPD reports good numbers for Nintendo." Nothing.
"Nintendo's numbers not as good as we think." Most popular article of the day.
And this article in particular will fall right in line with that.
A rumored mature rated shooter I think. Before E3 I once read a rumor suggesting Eminem was working with Nintendo to write a song for the game. Probably isn't really true since we're only hearing about this now.
Agreed. I prefer gyro controls in Revelations myself, but I completely understand the need for that second nub.
Basically what I got from this is "The Wii U CAN produce some nice looking games, but that's not the point of the platform." Considering that not a single game for it pushes the console, I doubt we're close to seeing its full potential from a gameplay or graphical standpoint.
Justify your opinion by attacking others for theirs. I look specifically at the word "drones."
Stay classy.
I don't think that's a fair reason because that build of the game was not in development for that long. The designers had to stop development and start from scratch a few times over for the past decade and a half.
This last build was probably made over the last three or four years? Not to mention Gearbox had to step in just to finish the code when 3D Realms went under.
I personally liked the game. I didn't expect the next coming of shooters. Inste...
It is pretty dumb yeah. But the reason is simple; money moves the industry. If Ubisoft felt their sales (and therefor profits) were threatened by it, they'd remove the DRM. Simple as that.
The sad thing is I KNEW they would do this; they would find a way to shoehorn the old hair color into the game to appease fans.
Screw this crap. I hated the demo because the story was stupid, the dialogue was horribly written and the general gameplay was balls compared to the old four games (especially 3 and 4).
Dante's hair is the least of this game's problems. I'm passing.
@LOL_WUT
Yes, because that fully functional gamepad honestly needed more crap in it and needed to be made more expensive.
The thing is hardly an iPad. It's like a DS in home console form, and it's an HD screen. The number one thing it was made for was for playing games. The markets are different; comparing the two, to me, is foolhardy.
Will anyone accuse the Vita of being an iPad rip off for its two touch screens? How about any of the...
