If you're trying to suggest that Mario Galaxy is the same as Sunshine and that Skyward Sword is the same as Twilight Princess, I'll have to ask you to take a second look at those games before making that assessment. Their core gameplay differs greatly and share very little outside of title and general formula.
Man, do you guys take pride in being absolutely pretentious? I don't agree with Starfox's approach of things, but you guys are no better. Don't go insulting anyone who supported (and continues to support) their Wii U purchase. It doesn't help your base, it makes you look immature and foolish.
The matter of what it's worth is completely subjective. Don't act like your opinion on the matter is a factual statement because it simply isn't.
Eh, I'm fine with my purchase of a Wii U, thanks.
Yeah, I can see how a console made by one of the oldest game companies in history that sold over 3 million units and having done so faster than the PS3 and 360 in the same span of time is irrelevant to the industry. /s
EDIT: Why other users here indulge an immature troll like yourself is beyond me. But then this is N4G. I've all but lost all faith for this godforsaken community.
If the tables were turned and, say, Tomb Raider or some other large scale 3rd party project was delayed in favor of a Wii U port, I guarantee this site would be swamped with bitching fanboys and articles talking about how the complaints were perfectly valid.
This whole thing is a joke at this point. So's the community.
@Dylila
Oh give me a break. So it's completely valid for fanboys to sling mud at Nintendo for Bayonetta 2 but Nintendo fans can't be angry about the delay? Are you freaking serious?
What rubbish logic. What money does Ubisoft need? They released TWO successful blockbuster games (Assassin's Creed III and Far Cry 3) just last year.
Because according to Ubisoft it costs less than $1 million to port a current generation game to the Wii U. So considering how small a number of units sold you'd need to make a profit from a figure like that, even third party devs could make some easy profits off the platform.
Hey, as a consumer it's my money. I'll choose what I want to do with it and I don't want to spend $300+ on a Vita when there are only two or three games I want to play on it right now. I am waiting for the price drop Sony announced and a few more exclusive titles.
As for the Rayman Legends boycott, I by no means advocate not buying the game, but my enthusiasm for it has certainly been lessened. Ubisoft clearly doesn't care, so why should I? There are other, be...
Depends on who you are and what you want in a console. I'm pretty satisfied with my Wii U. It has all of my Wii games loaded and I have some good games, both exclusive and multiplat for it.
Thing is if you have a 360/PS3, you may or may not care to get those games for it. If you don't mind some of the issues with the Wii (like tying games to the console, not the account) then you'll be able to work with digital purchases just fine. Online multiplayer works well en...
Rayman Origins didn't sell well and it was on five different platforms. What makes you think Legends will fair any better post the announcement of the Nextbox/PS4 and releasing in the same month as GTAV and Wind Waker HD?
Also the Wii U sold over three million units.
The Wii U is the most expensive piece of dedicated gaming hardware on the market right now. It also has a smaller userbase with a smaller library of games and this is a month where there are no real releases coming out.
I wouldn't have expected it to be flying off the shelves this week either. The 3DS is the exact opposite. Many people have them, there are quite a few games for it and it has a bunch of games coming out this year.
Because the Vita deserves its own exclusive and unique system sellers. More Gravity Rush and Tearaway type games. It doesn't need games people can already buy on their PS3 which is in far many more households than the Vita currently.
In your ignorance you also forgot the two Mario games that released in that same time frame which both sold over a million copies within the end of the year.
So the next time you accuse me of being ignorant, do yourself a favor, stop being a troll and proofread your crap-tastic comment.
Grammar in the headline needs some editing. But no, the Wii U is not a failure/flop and it is not doomed despite the word of many a detractor/hater/troll. This launch has been nothing, if not rather conventional and given some time and new games, the sales will become more standard. I assume the same for the Vita once it gets more AAA exclusives.
@yewles1
That's a terrible comparison. Without Nintendo buying the publishing rights, Bayonetta 2 would have been CANCELLED, as in not coming out at all (in case you didn't know the meaning).
Rayman Legends was meant to be a launch game, then it was delayed for a few months. Fair enough. But another seven month delay? And only to bring it to OTHER consoles? That's not a good reason for a delay. That's a scumbag move. Period.
Evidently it wasn't too late for the 3DS. Let's stop questioning this platform's future. After some time, some more games and even a price drop at some point (I'm thinking either holiday this year or early next year) then sales will pick up to a more standard number.
Well hey, someone over there seems to get it.
So in other words nothing. This comment was nothing if not immature.
Okay first of all, you're citing VGChartz.
The system has sold better in the US and in Japan. This is already known. So no, you can't say the sales have not been strong anywhere when the thing has already sold over 3 million units.
Phil wasn't really being uptight. He simply corrected your assessment as a subjective opinion as oppose to the "truthful fact" you made it out to be.
