Does Nioh have a release date? the vids I've seen look pretty rough, so I figured it was a 2017 game... as for the multiplats, there are one or two others I'm keeping an eye on, but Dishonored 2 is the only 3rd party game I'm getting day 1 (gonna wait for reviews on FFXV).
I'm saving up for a PS4Pro, Nintendo NX, Project Scorpio and a new TV, so games like Mafia 3 and Watch_Dogs 2 - both of which look like decent GTA knock-offs - are gonna need some GREAT r...
Judgement was a bit $#!t (most prequels are) so that isn't really surprising to hear... Forza Horizon 2, on the other hand, is (IMO) the best racing game ever made, so that is a bit of a shock.
Edit: just googled FH2s sales, and it did okay - 1.37 mil, which is decent considering it came out in 2014 (when there were less than 10million XO owners)... not too bad, all things considered.
Yeah, I'm looking forward to trying Overwatch this (free) weekend - surprising that I haven't already, considering how much I enjoyed Team Fortress... either way, Titanfall 2 looks like a bust and Battlefield hasn't amused me since Bad Company, so Overwatch might just end up being my go-to FPS.
Okay, that makes sense... I'm trying to decide whether or not to get Mass Effect on it, but I'm concerned that I won't be able to import my saves to 'Andromeda 2' - which I'll almost certainly be playing on a Scorpio.
Decisions decisions... Anyway, thanks Chris - you are a mod and a gentleman!
As an xbox owner, I think this year's been pretty great...
So far we've had both of The Banner Sagas, Far Cry Primal, Hitman, The Flame in the Flood, Hyper Light Drifter, Quantum Break, Dark Souls 3, The Witcher's 'Blood and Wine' expansion, Oxenfree, Mirror's Edge and Deus Ex - yeah, those are mostly multiplats, but they're still good games... the rest of the year's 3rd party lineup is comparatively weak (basically just Final Fantasy and Dis...
They've also done this with Forza Motorsports 5&6, Horizon 2 and it's 'Fast and the Furious' DLC... but you're right, it's a great habit - sold me on Horizon 2, and I hadn't bought a racing game since Mario Kart 64!
As an Australian, I was already sold on FH3, but I've still been waiting for this demo - which should be the same one we've seen at the various conferences... Crikey Dingo, I'm excited - gonna run me down some Eastern ...
You mean Driveclub, the game that was so 'great' that Evolution got shut down?
When it became apparent that these companies were serious about VR, I figured games like Star Citizen, Half Life 3 and other 'real' games would be used to sell it - ala Halo on the original Xbox - but that hasn't happened... instead we've got a bunch of similar-looking 'experiences' and some tacked-on VR modes for games like Final Fantasy XV and Rise of the Tomb Ra...
No, I mean the nature of YOU...
Sorry - couldn't help myself... Anyway, ReCore looks great - Yeah, the muted sound is a pain, though it does keep the spoilers at bay.
I was going to wait for reviews, but that intro section has me sold... Also, you get Banjo Kazooie for free if you pre-order, though that might just be at Gamestop/EB Games - not 100% sure.
Do you have any idea how crazy you are?
I'm getting one and I haven't owned a Nintendo since the N64... Yeah, it won't sell as well as the Wii, but I think you'll be surprised by just how well it does - I know a few people that are planning on getting NXs that didn't own Wii-Us, Wiis or 3DSs.
Never underestimate the Legend of Zelda.
Oh yeah, I totally forgot about the VR stuff - probably because I don't give a rat's arse about VR... I mean, as far as I'm concerned, some $#!tty VR 'games' don't make it a next-gen console either.
As for Phil's statement, multiplat developers won't make Scorpio exclusives until it's sold enough (I'm guessing between 10 and 20mil) to justify the cost of production... that said, they're almost certainly going to want to release Pr...
That's the spirit!
How is it a new generation when both consoles play the same games?
Well, let's play this out: the holiday season is upon us, which means PSVR is coming (though how well it does is anybody's guess) and once again Sony's AAA holiday lineup has been delayed to next year - which would be fine if it weren't for 2016's multiplat selection, which is the weakest I've seen in years (needs more Red Dead)... I imagine things will pick up next year, with games like Horizon: Zero Dawn, Persona 5, Gran Turismo and Spiderman (hopefully) set to launc...
By that 'logic', PS4Pro games won't 'start shining' until late 2017, at which point the Scorpio will release with even better-looking games - optimization be damned, those extra 2 teraflops are going to make a noticable difference right out of the gate... not to mention Sony's tendency to delay it's big AAA holiday exclusives (Driveclub, The Order, Uncharted, Horizon, Gran Turismo etc), which won't do them any favours - especially not when Digital Foundry start...
@GameName - you're aware that the best-selling games are multiplats, right?
Yeah, exclusives matter - they're the reason I still don't own a PS4 - but I recall a lot of talk about how the PS4's superiour multiplat perfomance was a huge factor with regards to the console's success... considering the performance difference between Scorpio and the Pro will be even more pronounced - not to mention games like Scalebound, Sea of Thieves, Forza 7 and (your pers...
Okay, I was hoping for improvements with regards to frame-rates - particularly for Bloodborne - but if it's just HDR... what about new games? Will they get a fps boost, or is the Pro just for resolution?
Sorry if these are dumb questions - I'm in Australia, where the conference started at 5am...
Why? So they can make less money?
O.T: Anyone know what the deal is with frame-rates? Will they be improved, or is the Pro just for resolution?
Glad those Neo leaks happened when they did - I was planning to buy a PS4 for Uncharted, but now I'm gonna be spending that $$$ a Pro... here's hoping Bloodborne also gets 'remastered'.
Yennefer and Geralt's romance is one for the ages - hence the various ballads and tales devoted to them - plus she's a better-written and more interesting character than Triss (or Shani)... That said, pressing the 'don't kiss Triss' button was harder than anything from Dark Souls and I probably wouldn't have done so if I hadn't read the books, which take you from despising Yennefer to pitying her, to marvelling at her capacity for love.
Her story...
