Technically CDPR are an INDEPENDENT developer - they cut deals with Warner Bros and Bandai Namco in order to get Wild Hunt published outside of Europe... But that's beside the point - which is games like the Witcher and GTAV represent real value for money, whereas I cannot remember the last time Square Enix released a AAA title that didn't try to screw it's fanbase for extra $$$!

RotTR's exclusivity, Deus Ex's 'Augmented' pre-orders, episodic Hit...

Sounds like that's precisely what they're doing - taking one of the most iconic games ever made and padding it with unnecessary filler in order to charge a minimum of $180 for the full story... Meanwhile, the Witcher has a 200-300 hour campaign and it's made by a frikkin' indie dev! Hell, even GTAV (which cost $300million to make and market) retailed for $60!

Anyone who buys part 1 brand new is effectively sending a message to publishers like EA and Activisi...

She looks like Triss Merigold's depressed older sister, whereas Tony Stark looks like Mac from 'It's Always Sunny...' The other 3 just look like the same guy with different haircuts... Which may in fact be the case - lest we forget this is the same studio that used variations of Lara's model for two of RotTR's characters (Anna and Sofia).

Regardless, the people begging for redesigns are wasting their breath... CD would have to go back and re-render e...

I'm not saying the Disney Era is devoid of violence - wouldn't be Star WARS if it was - I'm saying the lightsabers have been hobbled... with regards to RotJ's lack of dismemberment (as opposed to IV's 'Cantina Goon' and V's 'Yeti'), I'd say that came down to the fact that Luke was fighting humans and the special effects required to lop off limbs WITHOUT camera cuts hadn't been invented.

The prequels also had a lot 'off-scr...

Yeah, that one's a pickle - It looks like the blade pierces him upon ignition, then somehow slices him clean through the middle when Kylo pulls the hilt... I'm guessing the 'realistic' version would have been too gory and even more ambiguous (with regards to Snoke's death).

Either way, I stand by my prior statement - them lightsabres just aren't what they used to be!

The Episode IX trailer has Kylo Ren knocking down a rebel with his sabre - might have something to do with it's old-school design, or maybe it's power cell is running low? Seems to me that Disney have reduced the weapon's lethality by making them more like traditional swords... thrusting attacks will penetrate (Han Solo, Snoke's guards), whereas slashing attacks are less effective (Finn and Kylo both recieved what would have been fatal blows in the Lucas era).

That's the Disney effect - those molested bedwetters avoid controversy like the plague... carving through people like butter in a PG title would've led to problems with America's pill-popping, nanny-state fundamentaists and no one wants to hear from them.

Also, how is TFU2 underrated? It might just be my biggest gaming disappointment... Overpriced, undercooked, ridiculous plot and one of laziest boss fights ever! Hell, it's the last game LucasArts ever made!...

Yeah, the gameplay doesn't have that Uncharted level of seamless interactions, but it does at least look better than the Force Unleashed or the Battlefronts... Regardless, here's hoping Respawn has an army's worth of devs working on polishing the game (which they claim is 'playable' from start to finish), because neither EA nor Disney will allow them to delay it - not with Episode IX on it's heels.

At the end of the day, the story is what makes or br...

I was already sold on last year's demo - which I still haven't watched in it's entirety - so I had today's trailer muted, at least until I noticed that quarterback punk Keanu on stage... Now I just wanna know if we can f#@k him!

2412d ago 1 agree10 disagreeView comment

The real question is CAN WE F#@k HIM?!

Lest we forget, this is a CDPR game - bangable companions are one of their hallmarks, and Keanu's got those big, pretty eyes... Either way, I wonder if he has any idea of the amount of blender/sfm porn he's about to appear in? I guarantee that robo-arm is gonna get 'modded'!

CDPR admitted they showed too much of 'Wild Hunt' prior to it's release, so I imagine they're taking a different approach with regards to Cyberpunk - that, and they've already sold most of their target audience with last year's demo... I've actually been hoping that CDPR would release Cyberpunk this November, which is when the original 'Blade Runner' was set - a fitting tribute from to the film that spawned the very genre for which their game is titled!

Hey, thanks for asking my Witcher question - wish he'd said the film was 'cumming soon', but I can understand why they're focused on their game... Either way, I'm sure the ever-expanding SFM/Blender community will provide me with more than enough material to 'pass the time' while I wait!

Thanks, but I'm more of a Yennifer fan... That and I've never really been able to 'enjoy' the interactive stuff - far too much clicking for these hands!

Ask 'em about 'Witch Hunt' - their Witcher parody... they've been silent on the topic since 2017, when they said it was "not canceled".

I'm aware 'Shadow of the Tomb Raider' has started development - my main concern is that Marvel's games will be prioritised due to contractual obligations, forcing CD/Eidos to delay and/or scale-down development on Tomb Raider/Deus Ex in order to ship an Avengers game alongside 'Civil War 7'... that, and Square Enix are some mercenary SOBs when it comes to business, so I wouldn't be at all surprised if they do something similar to what Disney/EA/DICE did with Star W...

Sea of Thieves is in beta, so it'll almost-certainly launch within the next 6 months - likewise, Crackdown is set to launch 'before Holiday 2017'... with regards to new games, Forza Motorsport 7 will be announced/released well before Christmas, as well as a bunch of VR games.

As to the matter of exclusives, Phil Spencer said that while Microsoft's 1st party devs will continue to support the XO, 3rd party devs can do whatever they want - leaving the door open...

The other versions have already been localised and it'll almost certainly be sold digitally, so I can't imagine there will be many problems with regards to distribution... the XO version is probably just a port of the Win10 S;G0, which wouldn't have taken much time or money to produce - plus it's a visual novel, so it won't need to sell many copies in order to turn a profit.

I never played the original, but I thought the Stiens;Gate anime was great - did...
