I'm just glad that Activision no longer has the rights to Spidey in the video-game sphere. It was just a cash grab for that company and it showed.
They followed the old rules for licensed properties in video games - crank out pure low-cost crap at high speeds and rake in enough money on the name alone regardless of review scores and the reception from gamers...

I agree about your original point about the pointless nature of these articles but I think you're being a bit unfair to *blak*. I mean not everyone was affected and you might have been one of the unaffected. Even the author of the article notes that he was unaffected by this outage.
Maybe he is full of it but I don't think you proved anything...

GameSpot scores are almost always below the metacritic average. I like how they use the full scale. It seems like most sites only use 5-10 for the vast majority of games...

Too bad, the art direction and setting are very intriguing.
