Oh yeah, me too, for sure. I loved Sonic Generations a lot! I wound up buying it on PS3 *and* Steam, and getting all of the trophies/achievements on each platform. Loved that game to death.

It shouldn't cost that much. If you scroll a little bit further down, it should show you the respective prices in a table. The new season pass for the Wii U version was listed as £8.99 / €9,99, which is definitely cheaper than a 3DS title.
Buying separately the DLC for both Wii U and 3DS is pretty expensive, though, but if you only have the Wii U version, you shouldn't worry about the price for the Wii U + 3DS pack.

If it's just a mode and doesn't bleed into the actual difficulty of the game, then I see no problem with this.
In fact, having a variety of difficulty settings is largely a great thing. Those of us that want to play Hard or Lunatic mode have the option to do so, while those who want to play easy can still try the game and potentially enjoy it, since not every person wants to be an incredible gamer.

The battle system in Xenoblade is actually pretty great.
Soul Voices were a solid addition to actually keep you on your toes during combat. I'd actually like it if they took something similar to XCX's combat but then made it so that all attacks don't teleport or home in (if you played it, you know what I mean), making positioning even more important.
