Yeah, there's no magical port button for Nintendo in this. The games are developed by Gamefreak with Nintendo fronting the publishing costs; Nintendo doesn't even have full control over The Pokemon Company (they own 33% of that, no more) so if these games were in development before they saw how well the Switch would sell (which seems like the answer, given the same year release date), then it's out of Nintendo's hands.

@Jojo

You're largely correct. Metroid games don't sell well worldwide (Splatoon sold more, by itself, than the last 5(!!) Metroid games combined), and they sell abysmally in Japan. Other M sold .13 million copies in Japan, while Metroid Prime 3 sold .07 million (only 70k in JP!). Even Metroid Fusion only sold .17 in Japan.

The games are beloved (and trust me, I love the series, I've played them all), but the damn things don't sell. More pe...

Unfortunately, Metroid games do not sell very well.

The series just doesn’t sell. I don’t blame Nintendo for putting more effort into Splatoon over Metroid when it sold more than Prime 3, Trilogy, Other M, and Federation Force combined.

Hell, Splatoon sold almost 200,000 copies more than the last 5(!!) Metroid games combined- Splatoon’s 4.8 million to Prime Hunters, Prime 3, Prime Trilogy, Other M, and Federation Force at 4.61. If you don’t want to count ...

It's more about the lackadaisical approach to what he says, considering everything he types on Twitter is subject to the Presidential Records Act of 1978.

Dynasty Warriors 8 had a type of weapon triangle system in it, so I imagine it'll be a more fleshed-out version of that (I think it was called Man > Heaven > Earth).

Also, you could swap characters during stages in Hyrule Warriors Legends for the 3DS, so it's a very nice sign that they're carrying forward a lot of their mechanic improvements from HWL in comparison to HW (in HW, you *had* to play a large number of stages two+ times in order to collect the h...

I still hear this a lot, as well. I work with a lot of people in their 30s and 40s who call any and all Nintendo gaming devices, "Nintendos."

Example: When speaking to one co-worker while I was waiting at the office for my wife to come back, I was sitting in a chair playing my 3DS (I wasn't that day; I was running errands). One of the women swung by my wife's office while I was sitting in there and said, "Oh, you have a Nintendo just like my teenage s...

.... But they didn't force motion controls: You can use the Joycons as a regular controller in the grip or just use a pro controller. There is no need to use motion controls with Arms if you don't want to do so.

How do you not know that Monster Hunter XX is a 3DS game? MHX came out in 2015 for the 3DS, and this is the G-Rank expansion of that game (which was localized as Generations in 2016).

You're looking at the textures of a 240p handheld title from two years ago and saying they look poor, lmao.

Because the turn of phrase precedes our lifespans by a significant margin- probably originating in the nineteenth century or maybe even earlier.

As far as I knew, it'd be, "Microsoft is."

I have no idea if plural verbs with collective nouns is an actual change in English or if it is just popping up everywhere on the Internet due to a lack of basic education.

Since when have collective nouns (in this case, SEGA) supposed to be used with plural verbs? "SEGA is, 'really happy'" would have been the way to write this, or so I thought.

For years it was extremely uncommon to see plural verbs with collective nouns, but today it is all I see. It was very uncommon in British English, at least while I grew up, to use them together, and unheard of in American English, but it is becoming more pervasive all the time.

Bring up left vs right politics for no reason at all? Check.
Using, "Wake up" unironically? Check.
Stating that comedy isn't funny because it disagrees with one side of the political spectrum? Check.

All I need is a single, "Libtard" out of your and you'd win the Butthurt Bingo.

I could definitely stand for having Super Smash Bros Wii U ported to the Switch (I abhorred Brawl, but Smash 4 was great), among other things like Bayonetta 2, Mario 3D World, etc., would be awesome portable.

I like that you're among the few reasonable people on this page who don't just attack the domain from whence the argument came, and put forth a logical conclusion as to why it's extremely stupid to create artificial demand but then pay significantly higher shipping costs to ship by air freight.

Those great many fans were going to miss out on the game regardless of if it launched on the Wii U or not; Sega was not interested in funding the development of a sequel, but Nintendo was. Nintendo published the game because apparently Sega didn't want to, so fans of the Xbox/PS Bayonetta still wouldn't be able to play it as it wouldn't have even existed. Also, since Nintendo was the one who fronted the publishing cash, I wouldn't exactly hold my breath waiting for it to come ...

Stardock doesn't do console games very often, if at all, anyway, so this is hardly news lol

Normally I'd be disappointed by a delay, but the Sonic franchise is notorious for not delaying unfinished games... so they can take all the time they want, lol. Hopefully the final product exudes polish as a result.
