Sh*t-stirring article. One presentation went bad, neglect to mention last year was one of the best in E3 history, and that the rest of Nintendo's offerings at this year's E3 were great. The NWC was amazing, and the Treehouse live was awesome.
Microsoft should have abandoned E3 forever after being murdered on stage guys. No?
Nintendo didn't even have the worst presentation this year, that dubious honor goes to EA. No article on how they should do u...
What you're claiming about satire is exactly what this article is claiming about anonymous sources.
Updated for those that would confuse the Onion for an actual newspaper.
The article is satire of recent events, not a stab at Sony, Microsoft, or Nintendo. Mainly how anonymous sources have become common as dirt, and the lowered standards of "journalists" and how their proof of past reliability is something anyone with half a brain could have predicted.
Final Fantasy IX didn't make the list because it is very much appreciated in the FF community, more so than any of these listed. This isn't a list of favorites, or FFVIII sure as hell wouldn't have made it on the list.
While the Story and gameplay of FFVIII was in fact some of the weakest in the series, the story and characters weren't actually as bad as most of the Western audience believe, this is because most of Squall's character is completely lost in ...
While I did enjoy the soundtrack, it just wasn't better than any on the list. Arguably the most memorable and loved song in FFXII was a song that appeared in FFV first.
Almost every other Final Fantasy has (at least) that one unique piece of music you immediately associate with it, and nothing from FFXII had that impact on me or a large portion of the FF fanbase. There's no equivalent to One-Winged Angel/Aerith's Theme, Liberi Fatali/Eyes On Me, To Zanarkand/Other...
It's so good. It's amazing what they accomplished on PS2 hardware. Aside from that awful texture for Vaan's abs and the somewhat abrupt ending, it's the closest thing to perfection the PS2 ever saw. I'd go so far as to say it's more impressive than MGS3.
Well Ideally you'd all race to the front lines and establish the line in the sand, or ink in this case, on the opponents side of the map. Let the people who get splatted cover the area around the base on respawn, or if it's a big deal near the 30sec mark or so, super jump back to the base and begin inking.
Camping is extremely counter productive for the main multiplayer mode in Splatoon. If you aren't moving, then you are failing miserably. That also applies to Slat Zones to an extent as people who just sit in them are stupid. You cannot just camp at the higher ranking, against good players, you will lose it for your team.
The solution to people camping in ink and surprising you is to, get this, spread your own ink which they can't hide in.
The maps the...
The ink and super jump mechanics are revolutionary. They succeeded in creating stealth in plain sight, making a shooter without emphasis on kills, and made a dynamic environment that you can essentially sculpt at will to suit your needs. These are things that every other shooter, first or third person, developer has wanted to do and just couldn't.
It reminds me of Kojima talking about how Assassin's Creed made him and KojiPro feel shame because it's accomplished w...
The number of possible dream matches that have never been available before is pretty awesome.
I demand Chris Redfield vs. Captain Falcon. Falcon Punch vs Boulder Buster!
Well I'd say Megaman was an experiment. Capcom needed money, and Megaman in Smash means royalties, and the Megaman amiibo sold a lot.
There's also a huge difference between letting someone use your dead IP for a cameo, and then making paid DLC for your most iconic character. Capcom would have made a crapton of money for literally no effort period. Nintendo isn't doing it for free.
There are tons of other characters they could add that are far more...
Nintendo had let tons of third parties work on Nintendo properties. Capcom has made several Zelda games in fact.
Namco: Smash and Star Fox
Rare: Donkey Kong and Star Fox
Next Level Games: Mario Sports, Luigi's Mansion, Punch-Out!!
Koei Tecmo: Zelda
There's actually quite a few, and with Nintendo in need of games, now is the time for us to see more of it.
You just gotta be quick on the draw or stay up high when the other team has a few rollers.
As for the lack of voice chat, it's not bad. The matches are short, straightforward, and really hectic. They had a couple of premade commands, but they were just C'mon and a taunt. Really all they need is C'mon, Spread Out, Look Out and taunt assigned to the D-pad and they've got everything really needed for the game.
I understand people want voice chat,...
I certainly feel like I'm better at it. The whole ordeal really hammered home how different the game is.
I can now face roll all the enemy types I've come into contact with. The only other 2 bosses I've fought to this point (Cleric Beast and Blood-starved Beast) were walks in the park. Of course they seemed like actual jokes, so whatever.
Sadly, no. It took me that long to get it down. My stubbornness carries me through where my skills fail me.
Of course it didn't help that I was wearing the rags I started the game with and refused to grind levels much.
As for the rest of the bosses, so far none have given me nearly as much trouble. Probably because I can take a couple hits and the relief after that win calmed me down a lot. When I get frustrated like that I play even worse than usual.
Thank you. I feel it sums up the Souls experience for those of us that aren't particularly capable.
@Baka-akaB
I can understand why you feel it's too little too late in a sense. I'm the type of person who doesn't think we should praise a crackhead for getting clean because you're supposed to have your shit together from the get go.
That said, if that crackhead went on to start a company that made him a millionaire, I would say he did a good job as a person, not as a former crackhead.
That's how I feel about DmC: Devil ma...
@Kyosuke_Sanada We're on the same page. I disliked the original release, and think it was one of the worst in the genre due to its general mediocrity. Definitive Edition is a different beast altogether though. It provides the Vergil DLC in box, all skins, and probably the coolest mode ever in the DMC franchise in Must Style Mode. Read the review.
@Transporter47 DmC: Definitive Edition comes with two versions of the game essentially. Normal DmC and then DmC: Hardcore, whic...
Are you comparing the DMC4 to DmC: Devil May Cry or DmC: Definitive Edition? Because it sounds like you haven't played DmC: Definitive Edition and seen all the changes they pretty much ripped straight from DMC4.
Playing DmC: Definitive Edition in the Hardcore settings makes the game more in line with traditional DMC games in terms of difficulty and style system.
They made over 20 pages of changes to the original release. The Demon Evade > Trinity Smash...
If you read the whole article it even specifies Nintendo had an overall great E3. Their E3 was actually stellar overall with the Nintendo Digital Even being a black eye on an otherwise stellar show.
As for Metroid Prime Federation Force, it was just terrible timing to announce it, not the game itself.
