Stalking his prey.
Nintendo will sell more than 10M by the end of the year. If the rumored Pokemon game hits this holiday, it will sell more than the PS4 for the holidays as well. Just because you're ahead of the competition doesn't mean you aren't competing, there's only so much money in gaming, and the more of the pie someone else takes, the less there is for you. That's how a market works.
We'll see what the Switch has at E3, but there is at least one head to head comparison comparison coming: Skyrim.
And I was saying it will be bringing its first party franchises, which are massive in general, to the Switch, not that they've already hit. Though let's be honest, Zelda is exclusive to Nintendo platforms, and will be exclusive to the Switch going forward. Mario Kart 8 is exclusive to Nintendo platforms, with Deluxe being Switch exclusive, and it'...
That argument is flawed: The 3DS wasn't playing PS4 tier games. Any time the Switch gets a multiplat, it is literally in direct competition with the PS4, because very few people would get the PS4 and Switch version. Make no mistake, they are competing, but not the same way PS4 and XB1 are. Nintendo is offering portability, as well as the largest exclusive lineup of any first party, while Sony is offering their sparser exclusives and more graphically impressive games.

Me too, Captain Toad was an excellent game that really needs to be expanded on. Do away with the small Dioramas, fix the camera issues, and make Super Mario 64 sized stages
Also, what does that have with Switcth ports of Wii U games? lol
@Razzer
The game has the most perfect critic scores in history, making it best by consensus. I didn't say it was best by score, because aggregate score can be skewed by publications like Slant, which have a long history of giving games lower scores for attention. A tradition that carried over to their BotW review.
*According to critics.
You could say "but user reviews on metacritic" but that is a dumb argument that should give people AIDS for using it.
>Highlights how gameplay needs to catch up to power by mentioning great games on every console.
>Somehow article is now downplaying to save the Switch.

The only difference between the MGSV PS3 and PS4 games are visuals, it's not a comparison like the article is saying. FF12 vs FF13 is a better comparison. FF12 was on weaker hardware and had less powerful specs, but it had tons of gameplay and world design elements over FF13, which didn't make good use of the power difference between PS2 and PS3.
How about this: 1080p Horizon as is, or a 900p Horizon with deeper gameplay, like better melee, or more interactive envir...

Yeah, if they use the power. How long will adding pixels to grass instead of being able to cut plant matter be a good use of power?
BotW is a consensus best game ever made, and it has a level of interactivity that surpasses literally every single every single game ever made, and it runs on a system with less than a fourth of the XB1's power. The Switch is being shown capable of running most current gen games if you strip down resolution and effects, meaning those games have no use for the extra power of the PS4/XB1 if you don't care about super top of the line graphics.
The article is saying tha...
You could at least read the opening paragraph.
This is about using opt-in surveys to try and paint a picture of the gaming community's composition in an effort to improve everybody's understanding of the situation and improve the marketing/image of the community as a whole. You're not signing up for anything and have the right to refuse participation.
There's nothing wrong with asking for good information.
I agree with you until the point you say a person doesn't have a right to ask for accurate information. Why should anyone not be allowed to ask for such information?
Thanks for the civil conversation for starters.
I'm well aware the platform holders have all the demographic info they need. This is about boosting public awareness and clearing away damaging opinions of the hobby. I know a lot of people will brush it off and useless or needless, but the article comes from a place of wanting more understanding, and a way to fight back against those who would smear an entire group/industry with no proof.
It clears the stigma around games if we can prove that women aren't being discriminated against by stifling their representation.
Having demographic information available can prove the game industry isn't as misogynistic as certain groups would have you believe, and if the information shows that a group is underrepresented, the market can right itself.
That's the beauty of accurate information: Something good comes from it regardless of which way it goes.
Nintendo makes sequels isn't an argument that goes anywhere. Nintendo has several series that only get one or two entries per console generation. "_______ makes the same games" applies more to the publishers of CoD, BF, AC, UC, etc. many of which get yearly rehashes. At least when there's a new Mario game there's variety: 2D, 3D, Adventure, party co-op, level builder, and almost all of them do something new. AAA game devs change the setting to space or the past and call ...
