You need to look at the post history. I've done nothing but talk shit about Xbox for their obsolescence, but they had some fan friendly practices, a game centered show, and Sea of Thieves.

I was honestly impressed. I may pick up a XB1 S on Black Friday now. My first Xbox console.

It's objectively superior because it can do everything Metroidvania can, and then some. Not to mention the fact it's just the best 3D interpretation of Metroidvania.

@Nyxus When it comes to businesses, everything comes back to money, that's how captalism works. Plenty of people used BC for consoles that had it natively, PS2, early PS3, Wii, Wii U, etc. However, the cost of native BC is too high to justify its inclusion, especially when BC means people won't have to buy the game again if they want the convenience of playing the game on their current system. Hell Nintendo's VC has been the most profitable thing they'd done since the Wii and...

It's not an interview though?

What's misleading about it? Backwards compatibility is bad for business when you can repackage the game and sell it again.

Yeah, it was such a great series of games that it and ffxiv forced SE to apologize for damaging the final fantasy brand.

Nomura didn't direct it, but he did write the story and design the characters. He didn't write Crisis core etc, but he was a creative producer on the project and acts as a gatekeeper to the franchise.

Magic the Gathering and Pokemon TCG have the same turn based aspect, but there's a huge difference in variability between playing an opponent in a TCG and mindlessly shitstomping a ton of small opponents by holding X. The very nature of card games allows for such variability, and turn based video games shouldn't try to match it because it would be poor game design. Plus, you don't have to grind to improve your deck, assuming you have the cards, they can go in at will.

I guess it would help to define what I mean by inherently fun/boring: If you can design an entire game around that aspect, it's inherently fun. How long could you play a game that booted up into a turn based battle against an endless stream of opponents with no context? I'd imagine most people would grow bored quite quickly. However there are games where booting up and going straight to combat is almost the entire concept: Fighters, Shooters, Character Action, etc.

Boredom is a large part of turn based systems though, because the fodder battles devolve into repeating the same exact actions for long periods of time, with little to no variance. Grinding is often a necessary part of the game on the first play through, and grind has become synonymous with boring.

And no the developers don't have to do anything to the AI. The gambit system is just a bunch of "if, then" lines of code. All the developers have to do is provide a...

So you agree that gambits are awesome, but you're disagreeing with the article about gambits being awesome, because of reasons that have nothing to do with gambits? lol

Also, Vahn isn't the protagonist, he's just the player's window to experience the game, the actual protagonists are Balthier and Ashe.

This comment is AIDS.

Capcom wanted Monster Hunter on 3DS because the low quality visuals were way cheaper to produced than HD assets. They couldn't even bother to make decent textures when it was upgraded to HD on Wii U. When the vita sold terribly, of course it was going to go to the 3DS.

The only time Capcom has been hurt by exclusivity was on the PS4 with SF5.

Bayonetta 2 wasn't hurt by exclusivity, the only reason Bayonetta...

Because it's literally impossible for it to do so. It's not made by Nintendo, it's small budget, and it's already in the shadow of the dream follow up to Super Mario 64.

Kaine was a hermaphrodite, which is too weird for the majority of people, and she's a side character. 2B was front and center in the public eye from the start. She has the forbidden fruit thing going on too, with the skirt that's supposed to hide stuff but doesn't at all. Her design is just all around better as a hook, and once she gets you, then you see how awesome the game is and stick around. Nier Gestalt just sucked to play.

Also, it's a product of the t...

Pretty sure Dead or Alive has been making their girls jiggle in all the places you'd want them to for a while now.

There are plenty of visually and/or sexually appealing games that die in obscurity. The article is about how very specific audiences are being targeted so they become massive free marketing campaigns, and doing so with enough tact that you don't become Randy Pitchford, which is a little different from putting Brad Pitt in a movie and calling it a day.

Kinda but not really lol.

Fandoms are excessively devoted fanbases. Sometimes it does lead to perversion, like the creepy sonic fan art, but it's not required.

They wouldn't be stealing anything. They bought the idea from PG, and paid them for several years to work on something they failed to even finish, it's Microsoft's property.

I'll repeat that again: Microsoft owns Scalebound, because they paid for it There's nothing less sleazy than that.

It's clearly listed as a rumor with an unverified source. If people latch onto it as truth in spite of that, then that's their own problem.
