We can only hope, but Game Freak really dug themselves into a hole with their ever expanding roster. Now when they try to shrink it, fans will whine and complain. People will say that another remake of G1 is a bad idea, but they really need to go back to the originals and just shine it up to modern standards with new mechanics they'll actually build on instead of Battle Frontier'ing them from the series.

It's hard to rein in hype when it's been almost 20 years of buildup.

Metroid Dread is about 1/10th of the way to being the best selling Metroid game ever, through pre-orders alone, and it hasn't even been two weeks since it was revealed. It's going to see massive day 1 sales and then a big holiday season. It could easily sell a million more than Metroid Prime, not because MP was bad, but because it was on the friggin gamecube.

Also, Dread ...

It had literally everything Zelda normally has except old dungeons, items, and (my biggest gripe) enemy variety. All of the old world map areas and towns are present, familiar races, enemies, weapons, treasure chests, etc are still there. It's ridiculously high in Zelda content considering all the changes made.

Unrelated, but still remarkable: It's also a generation ahead of the competition when it comes to building an interactive open world, and they did it with th...

While I don't feel the story was told in a good way, the story that was there was pretty good. The characters too, they just needed to be incorporated better, maybe letting us play the flashbacks and interact with the champions themselves instead of watching a cutscene when we found them, or reading through diaries.

*Story Spoilers Ahead*

There have been Mario games without castles, and a current Animal Crossing without a town though...

If they have to bring back dungeons in the next Zelda game, I want them to be more like BotW's Hyrule Castle and less like any other temple/dungeon the rest of the series has to offer. They've given us the freedom from linearity many have craved since open world's became a thing, and created the most interactive world to ever grace a video game, they shouldn't...

No idea where to go now, but not-NeoGaAF is good.

Someone else taking over isn't good either, because they'd have to buy the site from Malka, making him a lot of money off of this whole clusterfuck. The best possible end is the site dies and Malka gets hit hard in the wallet.

The problem is the owner. The only solution is to find somewhere new.

Nobody even batted an eye when he openly used threats of bans to silence people. The only reason the rest of gaf is pissed now is because of the current climate of the #MeToo movement.

Nazis are on the Right side of the European scale, but in relation to America's Constitution and founding principles they stand of the Far Left. It's very simple:

The further Left you go, the stronger you want the government to be, the further Right, the smaller you want the government to be. Fascism is a branch of socialism that believes in total government control, which means fascists, including Nazis, are all Left of center in America.

You can also turn off every single one of Samus's power-ups if you want. Everything else you said was pure preference.

The EXP system influenced all of the other aspects in SotN, meaning if you're not using the EXP, then it was a waste.of resources that just bloated he game for no purpose.

Playing a less impressive game upside down is still playing a less impressive game. I'm not even sure why you consider it a positive.

The EXP system needlessly bloats every aspect of the game. SotN recycles a lot of tile sets just to excessively pad areas out and to facilitate grinding. Encounters aren't based on skill, and a bit of grinding can let players power through everything. I cannot grasp why people think it's a positive to lock power behind grinding sc...

SotN is cool and all, but it's no Super Metroid. Adding EXP and levels did nothing to improve on Super Metroid's formula.

Nintendo did potect the rights to their IP though, and if they hadn't C&D's AM2R, it would have opened a legal can of worms. In the end, Nintendo did the good guy thing: Waited to C&D a fan project until after it was out there for everyone.

Also, Mercury Steam is handling the remake, not Nintendo. The reception to it has been extremely positive too.

The official game isn't even out yet fool. Also, Nintendo waited until the game was out there before they issued the C&D. They let the fan make the game he wanted and let it get into the public. So the C&D did nothing but protect Nintendo's legal rights, and everyone can now play the fan remake if they want to.

Sony didn't exclude PC and Xbox because PC isn't a rival console, and Xbox isn't a threat. This deal is different because it's proof Sony is trying to snuff out the competition before it even started. It's malicious, as it wasn't an attempt of the company to improve itself, but to harm another. If they had succeeded, they'd have a full on monopoly fight now. Once Sony has a monopoly, they can implement any feature they want, even if their customers hate it, because...
