I don't regard that as an indie game though. Since when are Telltale Games indie? In fact, any Sony associated studio is not technically indie either.

Which pretty much only leaves Limbo for me.

Naughty Dog are massively skilled at graphics.

They are decent at level design.

They are OK at gameplay.

That can't make them the best studio overall to me.

I'd give that to Bethesda for Dishonored. Or Irrational for the original Bioshock.

In Uncharted you have to play a git masquerading as a rugged warrior who wants to kill everyone left right and centre for no particularly noble motive.
In T...

Giant mud slide as in Romancing the stone. (there has been brief mud bits before but only in the sense that it kills you immediately).
Collapsing bridge as in Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom.
Mine cart ride as in Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom (we know it's a cliche but anything goes in part 4 of any series).
Booby trap level.
Travel down a river section like the first Uncharted game, only this time by a combination of vehicle and platforming (Un...

I think that people overstate the importance of Playstation's range of games.

Sony sometimes overkill some genres and don't do enough in others.

What Sony do is they attract those who feel that they are slightly intellectually or morally superior. Basically, Playstation attracts the pseudo artsy. The kind of people who take feminist studies just so that they can go out with more girls.

However...

They also surely attr...

Hmm.. makes it sound like the Xbox One needs the hungry, creative studio to get the best out of it as a fresh challenge to itself in the hope that its experience making its own games will give it some different kind of flair from a porting company to distinguish it from PS4's high points.

Whereas the PS4 just needs as experienced a porter as possible to knock it out as fast and as precisely as possible because it's more like ABC to get a souped up port looking at its ...

Lots of people bought a PS2 when, on paper, it was inferior specs wise to the original Xbox.

The PS2 had some tech advantages over the Gamecube, mainly related to it using DVDs with greater memory than the Cube's proprietary discs but, aside from that, the Gamecube still had greater power than the PS2.

With the Xbox One, the main difference is going to be purely down to the artists working at the studios. I wouldn't say that Sunset Overdrive, Quantum ...

All the talk of balance all the time makes me think that I'll be getting on a bit of a rollercoaster with Sony and more of a see-saw with Microsoft.

Meanwhile, Xbox chief Julie Larson-Green says nothing. Can you believe that she has been Xbox chief for over a year without saying a word to buyers?

I hope she gets sacked so she can spend all day looking at her face in her Mirror App on her phone.

Don't feel sorry for any negative Xbox One stories. Some of the higher ups are in a state of world domineering wannabe arrogance. They're probably all on holiday right now. They have set up their own fall a...

And yet they're still selling Bioshock Infinite for £49.99 on the store at the moment.

That's called an 'Idiot Tax', as last used by Aliens: Colonial Marines, a game that went £19.99 back up to £49.99 then back down to about £5.
Whether that was Gearbox or Sony's laissez faire pricing allowing is not clear.

Mind you, giving a game for free is caring about the consumer so well done Irrational. I'll now be abl...

I understand Microsoft's reasoning though.

Microsoft do not invest in their own indie games anywhere near as much as Sony do.

So when a nice indie comes along that they're offered, it's natural that Microsoft are going to want to make it either a full exclusive for a timed exclusive. They need it to be part of the character of the XboxOne rather than just looking like a Sony hand me down.

If that means Microsoft is less holistic i...

Although some sophisticated buyers HAPPEN to have bought Nintendo products sometimes, because Nintendo are not always consistent in delivering sophisticated looking products then their fortunes have too much been left at the whim of either casual gamers or a smaller number of aging 'loyalists' (in Nintendo's case we are talking about 40+ year old guys whose bedrooms are decked out in nothing but Nintendo merchandise).

Loyalism is nice and good but even they might ...

I can't load it so I've come up with a few of my own although the video itself might have chosen a very different angle on what kinds of things to choose. I've tried to stick to 'creepy' ones rather than simply 'weird' ones like walking on the spot towards a wall, choosing to jump your way around any public space or sprint around inside a small office, or unlikely ones in real life like slaughtering hundreds of enemies rather than turning back in series that paint ...

What you're buying is boss battles and pantomime-style presentation.

It's interesting but the difficulty spikes, whilst not of Viewtiful Joe levels, go way up on the frequent bosses. Which doesn't make it the relaxing experience that I probably would have preferred it to have been.

I'd suggest making sure you've played more consistent experiences like Limbo, Rain, The Unfinished Swan before you consider tackling the gameplay quirks of Pupp...

I hope that Microsoft are paying them handsomely- Remedy are a reason to buy a console.

It could be argued that, with the Xbox One, Microsoft seem laser guided on covering every single genre with 1 exclusive AAA game (and not necessarily any more) to make the Xbox One interesting. An arcade fighter game (KI), a racing game (Forza), an arcadey survival horror game (Dead Rising 3), a serious survival horror game, a parkour / shooter stylised game (Sunset Overdrive), a creation ...

It could only have sold better by Sony neglecting the PS3's later years which would have artificially made the PS4 look better.

Sony don't do that to their consoles so everyone's a winner, whether you're ready for the PS4 or still want to get the most out of your PS3. Sony go for the slow burn- strong early console sales are just a bonus. And the PS2 to PS3 has shown that, in the end, the loyalty is there. The forums are in love with Sony. Anything that might ...
