One thing that really stands out is the watery kind of echo in the moody underground level music. It gives an atmosphere that, truthfully , wouldn't otherwise be there as much as the visuals are mostly bold.It's a game of little victories, both in stages and on the map, and then a marching band kind of fanfare when you complete a level.It's like you're cracking a puzzle.

Retro Studios has to do what Nintendo agrees with. Retro made Metroid Prime. Retro could probably tackle an Eternal Darkness type of game.
Looking at those games now, Absolution is so much better graphically that I think they should just release that at the moment. It uses Glacier 2, the same engine that Hitman 2016 uses, and, so far, Absolution has used it in a more interesting way. Hitman 2016 is clinical looking which is arguably fitting for the game's concentration on never going guns blazing unless you have no other option.
To be honest, it's such a cat and mouse game it's like playing Hitman if it was with zombies - and as if you were already in Hunted mode. Not what I'd call FUN. Brutal, instant death at any point. Multiplayer comes across as a relative relaxation by comparison.

Nintendo needs to get a bit grittier again, like the Gamecube sometimes was. There'll always be WiiU games to download for people who want a more WiiU style.
It needs to make things like a controller with a screen an accessory that you can buy if you want to. Don't force extra cost on to people if they don't want to use a feature. I'd rather have a Wavebird / Wii class...
The single player looks really fun. It's fresh to just be able to explore a bit more. I think the multiplayer has a lot to live up to - hopefully the MP will be regarded as a work in progress to be tweaked. I'm sure some people want to be able to choose between games that have healing and games that have instant kills.
I'd like remasters / remakes of Hitman Contracts, Blood Money and Absolution as I've never played them. I've never played the games before them either but I think they'd look old without a complete overhaul.
They've spent 5 years apiece on the main game in their last 2 series. I think that this will be a much smaller game for a change. It could even be a DLC for Alan Wake (but not Alan Wake 2) based on what they've done in Quantum Break.
