PS4's been a let down so far.

Knack is very average. There is a challenge there but it's still an average game.

Killzone Shadow Fall didn't get reviews as good as the PS3 games.

The Order 1886 is a series of pretty cut scenes followed by arcade gallery type shooting. The shooting is actually quite taxing, throwing waves of enemies, but it's a shame that the game is so flatly structured.

Bloodborne is not to ev...

I think it's clear that the average rating of Quantum Break is 8/10 despite reviews being mixed. So many really love it, fewer than that rate it averagely and even fewer than that rate it very lowly. Remedy's noirish presentation can elevate even banal scripting. It has to be deemed a success.

Since you'll never know what you never knew was there, it seems a waste of resources. Why not put more in the places that are likely to be explored?

I'm going to treat Uncharted 4 as a game to enjoy all the little details, the wide linear, not just to wait for the next spectacle. I think that's how the game's been approached, to enjoy some things more slowly if you wish than previous games tended to allow. It's not just about 'go big or go home' although the set pieces we've seen so far do brilliantly fulfil that too.

1080 Avalanche on Gamecube.
Jet Set Radio Future on Xbox
Outrun 2 (arguably)
Silent Hill 2

Which point do you disagree with? And this is a question not a statement so if you disagree with this question I don't trust your logic on the above either.

I appreciate your concern but if UC4 has had a lot of new blood working on it mixed in with some people who've made the previous games, it will probably be a good thing. Instead of purely going for the 'go big or go home' philosophy in terms of short set pieces, some of the set pieces are now very extended, atmosphere setting, parts of the game it appears like the jeep ride (the only maneouvrable vehicle in Uncharted apart from the first game's jetskis and UC3's horse if y...

7 reasons why it fell so far behind:

1) Perhaps 80 million people who bought a Wii never intended to buy another console. It was a one off gimmick for them.

2) The WiiU didn't have a major 3D adventure game early on. No new Zelda, no Paper Mario. It had Super Mario 3D World and even that may have arguably been seen as a 2.5D kind of game.

3) Because of the game screen, and Nintendo's desire not to sell their consoles at a loss, the Wi...

1998 appears a very good choice considering that Half Life and Banjo Kazooie came out then.

1996 was more 'historically' important with Mario 64 heralding truly 3D adventures- and launch of Resident Evil, Tomb Raider. But 1998 was when things got in to stride, with Resident Evil 2.

But what was even better for breadth was 2003:

I've never ever been in to games like Elite but the art style of No Man's Sky is intriguing. It's like being an explorer on prehistoric earth, it's not just for space game fans.

PS Now and no backpat is an excellent tradeoff for consumers for 9 years and counting free online multiplayer on PS3. But don't think we don't know your game, Sony. Not being able to play CDs, worse PS Plus games now that you need it to play online on PS4. You pennypinch now like Microsoft with their Xbox Live fees have always done. But I understand. Cell and Bluray and many exclusives won't have come cheap last gen. Thank goodness for GDDR5 and The Last Guardian this gen.

Sam Lake deserves many awards. He is a very cool person , an icon of gaming, who has been on a long journey and maintains a boyish enthusiasm. The graphical touches, the lighting, the dark in Remedy games, the noirish sense of one man against forces much larger than him, is exceptional.

As predicted, no-one's actually saying why they like the series yet my opinion is disallowed.

Ratchet and Clank is a waste of my time. I will get marked as trolling for this yet why should someone who offers no constructive reason why they like a game not get marked the same? The characters, the pseudo sci-fi, the relentless collecting little bits of steel or whatever, people saying it looks like a Pixar movie (when it looks more like a Dreamworks one), it does nothing for me. I only say not to be a troll but because it's as if I live in a strange world where everyone's been c...

Those reviewers are curmudgeons not living in the real world who unfairly compare a game's version of a TV show to a long running one that gets millions of dollars / pounds in revenue from advertising!

There are some very good Xbox One deals in the UK at the moment (compared to previous prices). There's a Quantum Break and Call of Duty Black Ops 3 bundle in one game store which costs less than the Sunset Overdrive bundle on its own ever did. And it's the white Xbox, being in the official Quantum Break box.
