Please! enough with the 'power of the cloud' crap!
Nvidiea had a tech demo showing of lightning effects 'enchanced' by cloud tech, but even they had to admit that cloud computing on a large scale was a near nightmare for resoucres and bandwidth when used on multiple system in a lab. Demo I watched could barely get past 15-20fps!
Even they admitted that such use of 'cloud computing' wouldn't make it to mainstream for a few years yet and wouldn't...
Im sorry but do you not consider PC's to be a gaming console rig that plays all the same games as what you currently play on either PS or XB? Games such as CoD and Battlefield? Which are what most gamers play and is on all major systems.
This isn't a personal dig or anything mate. Im just after your view on it.
The cloudless is not the graphical powerhouse that a lot of ppl here belivie that it is. Nividia who produce graphic cards for pc's struggle to make huge improvements with basic tech demos. There is no way it's going to be game changer a lot of ppl think it is.
Portal 2 for ps3 x-play with pc's through the Steam networks
Already said this in another article. X-play is already a possibility with the ps3 and pc's. Look at portal 2.
PS3 has already done it. If your after proof just look at Portal 2 :)
The guy(Pratt) who made the comment on the toy R us site is obviously not a true gamer but some twit of a troll who is simply lookin to stir things up with the max publicity he could get. After all, why go on to toy shops webpage with the name tag of 'Sonytwan' and start bad mouthing off their rivals?!? Think about ppl, this same guy will prob pop up next on symths toys webpage under the guise of Xboxtwan just to stir things up there for his own personal ammusment next, then there wil...
And that's my point made right there. £3,250 for a 4k TV atm and in another year maybe, just maybe they might be down to £2000.
But the average gamer wont have that kind of money to spend out on a TV. Hell, £430 for a brand new console without games is a hell of a lot to find!
4k is a pipedream with PR spin written all over it at this point in time.
Even if 4k gaming were a possibility with both XB1 and PS4(which they wont be), how many of you have a 4k TV!?!?!
After all, your gonna need a seriously high-end TV to handle seriously high-end resolutions.
I've just upgraded to fibre optic BB. Went from 3.5mbs to 37.8mbs!!! Think I can download killzone now lol
Most ppl do not realise that all CPU's and GPU's all run at 10% slower speed than what they we're built at. Now this many be hard for some ppl to keep up with, but pls bear with me.
When being made in the factory, a 2.4Ghz is actually built at a speed of roughly 2.64Ghz. the chips are then turned down in speed, to provide you with the best balance of performance, speed and life cycle. (a safety net area if you)
This 'down clocking' of CPU's and GPU'...
I saw a demo from nividia a few months ago which showed lighting effects powered by cloud based tech which was impressive in itself. However, the demo was incredibly slow running, less then 15fps and the cloud based server was based in the room next door on a LAN config.
Hardly something for XB1 fans to get excited about because you'll get even less than what was shown due to users own BB speeds and the amount of users attempting to use same features at same time.
Cloud b...
PSN is a 18~GB download. As far as i know the two disc on Xbox couldn't possibly fit 18GB
It is possible with Dual-Layered DVD disks. They can hold up to 9.4Gb per disk.
Read SONY's Terms & Conditions people. I'm sure that if you look hard enough, you'll find the clause that states that 'they have the rights to change T&C's at their own discretion and at a time of their own choosing'.
We all agreed (us gamers) to those terms in the latest PS3 FW update.
I remember me and my best mate playing the Candy SuXX mission (GTA:VC)where you had to replace the film on the searchlight and point it at a building, whilst riding from roof to roof on a dirt bike.......... My mate put in a cheat for a chopper and we did it in next to no time! LMFAO
This is nothing more than one persons own opinion from the Washington Post. Totally pointless, holds very little weight.
I'm sorry but this article is totally pointless. I'm sure there are far bigger and better articles than this to be put up on n4g.
More PR BS from M$.
The real truth is that the pre-orders were so low compared to the amount they are producing that there will be plenty left out on the shelves.
Xbox1 will be future proof claims the company who brought you windows 8!! The bestest and greatest OS of all time!!!
No, sorry, I can't keep a straight face either :-D
