30fps (or lower) has been the standard sort of frame rate in console games for years apart from on an FPS or sports games. Did PS3/XB360 games even hit 30fps consistently? I remember a lot dipping down to below 20.
I'm pretty used to 30fps so would happily take improved graphics over frame rate in most cases. 60fps can sometimes feel a bit weird to me, I'm used to the cinematic feel of 30fps. I remember how weird watching the Hobbit was when I went to watch it in the cinema a...
Nice!!! Deserved. Can't wait for the PS5/Series X upgrade. Fingers crossed it's soon.
I rarely get a game on release so the price increase doesn't bother me too much. Can soon get these games for a reasonable price second hand within a month or two of release. Not great for the digital market though as there's not that choice, just sales which bring the price down to £40/£50.
TLOU2 is amazing. Close between that and The Witcher 3 for my favourite game of all time.
That's what I don't like to see, people missing out when they get swept up by these things. I'm loving Cyberpunk 2077 at the moment (playing on PS5), but people will undoubtedly miss out because of what they've heard. To be fair in this case it was partly CDPR's own fault. I've got a couple of mates who love CP2077 and have played it on base PS4. Things get blown out of a...
It's a AAA game less than a year old, so just getting the PS4 version is pretty amazing.
Exactly. They were quite open with things like wall-running not being included.
The NPCs seem quite good to me, not amazing, but there's stuff going on in the world and it feels really cool to me. Would be better if the roads were a bit busier. I'm playing the PS4 version on the PS5, so not sure if crowd and car density etc, is increased on high end PCs.
Loving the game anyway. Hope other people can also enjoy it.
What would you be playing it on? I'm playing it on PS5 now and very rarely notice any bugs.
It's a fantastic game and an awesome openworld. Don't miss out because of the criticism that is mainly coming from people who haven't played the game, or people who strangely are trying to compare an RPG to GTA V.
Was supposed to be February. But this is the one that's properly supposed to sort it out on last gen consoles, so wouldn't be surprised if it's a little bit late.
I'm absolutely loving it on PS5 at the moment though.
haha, I get where you're coming from, but you probably shouldn't mind I agree. Just ignore Fortnite's existence, it's for the best.
Valhalla was an awesome game in my opinion. Miles better than Origins in my opinion (didn't play Odyssey).
Also enjoyed the last series of X-files they did :p
I read something about the faster SSD allowing better compression, not sure on the technical details. Huge difference on the file size for Control wasn't there?
Every other game releasing single player DLC: "Money grabbing B@$****!!!"
GTA V not having single player DLC: "Gimme gimme gimme!!! Take my money!!!"
Has anyone considered CDPR might have got a lot of pressure form the Polish government to release CP2077 because of the amount of money they got from them to develop it? They obviously wouldn't be able to say this was the case if it was.
I found AC Valhalla great value at £45 (especially when selling the steelbook for £30!), but Watchdogs Legion not so much, although I did enjoy it. However, I think £/$70 is a hard sell when many companies aren't doing it yet and games are released riddled with bugs.
@zacfoldor HDR is very tricky as it's actually designed to be view at very low ambient light levels (a room with 5 nits brightness), so anything over this and it can be difficult to see dark areas.
Make sure you've done the HDR calibration in the PS5 system settings (turn off any sort of dynamic contrast options whilst doing this). For the first two calibration screens, set it to where the symbol disappears (not just below). This will give you the best peak brightness. As you...
Maybe they optimised the Series X first, and didn't have time to optimise it fully for the PS5 so had to temporarily switch things off. It wouldn't be a permanent thing as the too consoles are too similar in performance. Series X has better raw graphical power, but the components are heavily customised so it's hard to compare. I know the speed of the SSD makes a big difference on the PC version performance with loading environments on the go etc. (which also reduces strain on the ...
I'm a PS5 owner, and I think it looks so close between the two consoles that it's not worth the time debating about. The main thing the PS5 has that makes it stand out, is the games.
It does play great on PS5 though. I'm playing through at the moment and loving it.
New gen version I reckon. Also includes an upgrade for PC as well as Series X/PS5.
Yeah sees himself in a mirror for the first time thanks to ray tracing ;P
