The only framerate drops I noticed was during cutscenes so for now, I'm fine with it (only bought X360 version to play split-screen coop though; as soon as it gets cheaper on steam, I'll download it for PC).
If you can run something at 60FPS, it means you can make it prettier by sacrificing 30 frames for it. It's all about design choice just like today: some (most) games run at 30 FPS because their dev care more about beauty than framerate.
Now what I mean is: even if you get a hardware that can run pretty graphics at 60 FPS, there will always be someone who'll develop something even more beautiful but would do that at 30 frames.
EDIT: Oops, commented on the wrong article.
Military stuffs are a significant hobby in Japan so I'm not surprised there is an audience for these kinds of game. Airsoft originated from Japan.
I think EA ain't to keen about releasing Mirror's Edge 2 since it doesn't have a strong multiplayer component and now they want to stick their online pass somewhere... Though I hope it get released too.
I think it's more about the dedicated 1GB RAM for the OS and apps like the browser. One must admit that it comes very handy to be able to go on the web (and even look at vids) without exiting the game (as a PC gamer myself, even on this platform it is sometime a problem when there are certain games that crash if you do alt+tab).
I don't understand what makes you think this is a "crappy article" when it just states the fact about how Black Ops 2 performs on the Wii U (objectively) and do not give their opinion about the console itself.
I like the way Treyarch created their characters as opposed to IW. They are more believable and credible than those super war heroes of the Modern Warfare series. I mean, Woods is kinda an a*shole (a badass one, but still) and gets the fate he deserves in my playthrough. Mason (father) is also a d*ck with his son and Menendez isn't the villain that hates America "just because" like Makarov or Zakhaev.
SPOILER
Alex's fate depends on the player's choice. But yeah, mine died too (it's too much of a temptation to place a headshot for a FPS player :p).
Maybe Ed Harris didn't accept the job. I remember him saying in an interview that he was kinda annoyed to do a video game voice over because he had to record all these in-game lines like "cover me!", or "reloading!"...
Well at least, R* doesn't intend to hire famous actors for GTA V's voice over.
I also like the idea that not so famous actors get a chance to shine like the actor of Woods in Call of Duty: Black Ops.
Well I played the game (the first 2 or 3 levels) before release and from what I've played, I find it difficult to believe it is so bad as certain reviews say. I didn't receive the full game yet (Zavvi notified me they sent it yesterday) so I can't give my final thought on it yet but I hope the game is as good as I've experienced during the preview...
Actually, I think the other way around : BO2 has an intersting story but the narrative is messy and confusing.
But I liked some things they did with narrative and level designing (even though I found the later quite messy overall).
At one point during a mission, you had a tower you could climb (or not) using a ladder. When you did that, Mason (your character) said "I'll cover you from the tower". It gave a feeling similar to the Stanley Parable mod of Ha...
I think the game was rather based on the original comics and not the movie though...
Same thing for LA Noire. We didn't have a clue about a PC release until the games on consoles were released.
The review itselft is from a magazine, this site is just reposting it.
They've also said, that's where the triple characters could come in handy gameplay-wise : you got lost in the desert with one character ? Switch to the other guy who's in the middle of Los Santos.
If I recall the exact quote, the Housers were told that making a western-themed game would be a disaster.
I've read on an other site that the rest of the protagonists will return to their daily occupations while you're controlling one of them. So you could find yourself in a "funny situation" if you get back in one of them.
Marketing of AC3 was over the top patriotic. The game is not.
