I think for now they just want us to believe that all they got for this year is Max Payne 3 because they know many will skip it if GTA V is to be released this fall.

At least, I hope this means the coast is clear for GTA V, now that T2 doesn't have to worry about internal competition...

Although I'm more interested in Black Ops 2 than I was with MW3, I'll buy GTA V over this anytime.

Far Cry 3 seems as an intersting take on the genre too.

I think the Bakumatsu period (end of the feudal era) would be interesting since it's a pivotal moment in the history of Japan (like many other countries had their own during that period of industrial revolution). Countless political turmoils and assassinations, and it's set after the era visited until now so it fits. History is much more thrilling and interesting than hollywood : The Last Samurai is boring compared to what really happened, it was more than a combat of "tradition ...

It's his first Assassin's Creed...
Also, lead writter Corey May is thinking about feudal japan (near the end of the vid):

At the same time, they admitted they sometime go against historical facts, like having a statue that didn't exist at that period because they still wanted to have it in the game. And it's still funny and interesting to have some inaccuracies in the game because it encourages you to look for the facts yourself and then realize "Oh I've seen that in the game!" or "They've invented that!".

I think the E3 demo ran on PC.

It's a UK site. Games come out usually on Friday here in Europe.

I'm not really worried about the time spent on the dev of this "last" installment. What's really time consuming and cannot be empowered by manpower while creating a game is designing/prototyping and developing a new engine. Creating a lot of assets can be done pretty quickly, especially when you're Ubisoft which can make 5 studios around the world work on a single title.

Brotherhood and Revelations were really fill-in episodes. Brotherhood was kinda a pe...

You've seen that at E3 already. Don't worry, they'll show us some gameplay footage before releasing.

hum, you know it's a CGI pre-rendered trailer right?

are you kidding me ?

According to the gameplay vid from E3 it doesn't look that way but still, it was a stage demo so maybe they had them dumber...

Yeah why not some Time Square since it appeared in the campaign?

The thing is, the climax of the series (in its story) is to take place at the end of the year 2012 (launch of the Abstergo satellite with the POE + apocalypse) so they don't have much of a choice...

In my opinion, it's rather Revelations and maybe Brotherhood too that were expendable.

Well it does mean something, not everything indeed but certainly not anything.

I think BF3 got it right for the knife system. It's still frustrating (like any other way of dying) but I find it more acceptable and fair since the guy would have killed me anyway (lethal takedown only from behind).
The real problem with panic knifing is that if you have a slower connection, you might be unloading your bullets onto a guy who's already at knife range even if he's not in your screen.
