Who cares when you have Watch Dogs!
I'm glad they're really motivated for that game and has not been given to them by default like a pending task just because it's DICE and it's a Battlefield-like game.
Bad ideas are not retained, DRM/always online connection console might or might not be the future and it depends on us.
And I don't imagine for a second that these system would be beneficial to anyone except execs' salaries and shareholders' pockets...
WW2-era CoD relied more on atmosphere than scenario and I think that worked better for a video game, at least of this genre.
Open-world, disrupting a tightly-controlled system, it wouldn't surprised me to learn that Watch Dogs was originally developed as a next-gen Assassin's Creed sequel just like AC was first intended to be a X360/PS3 gen Price of Persia episode.
Far Cry 3 already had some Abstergo easter eggs... that or, some WWII-era Japanese scientists have been playing too much Assassin's Creed.
@djthechamp24
Plus Skyrim isn't multiplayer
We've been and still will be spoiled with GOTY contenders this year anyway. Bioshock Infinite, The Last of Us, and we've yet to see GTA V, Watch Dogs, MGS V as well as the second season of TT's Walking Dead.
I hope not though...
One can argue how MP3 wasn't true to the franchise story wise, but it can't be denied that in terms of production, from gameplay to graphics, it was top notch.
Frankly, if GTA V is the culmination of what R* did -right- this generation, I'm all sold and I'm even not waiting for the PC version.
Ghost looks like a current gen Call of Duty maxed out on PC, which is not ugly by any means but still is VERY underwhelming for next-gen graphics.
This guy has absolutely no respect for developers and the process of MAKING games, video games don't grow up on trees to be harvested every year! It takes craftmanship and great care to make fantastic works, unless it's rushed up commercial products like Call of Duty which he likes to mention.
If Rockstar thought they needed some more time no matter the gen, then it should have been important. This man is insulting them, and any other hard-working studios that ensure we get to...
I'm not sure for a Total War though, the controls weren't the only reasons it wasn't ported to consoles, the number of things it has to display during RTS gameplay might have also been a big factor and I doubt the WiiU is more capable than the current gen consoles to render that amount of things and as detailed as on PC. Plus, loading times on non-SSD HDD are a hell of a lot, it would be even worse with optical discs...
But yeah, I agree we could see some PC games...
Or you can buy both of them. Considering how both Battlefield and Call of Duty look generic this year, I'd rather have two intersting open-world games than having to choose one OW game and one shooter...
And there's like a month and a half between the release of these two.
He's actually pointing the finger at Microsoft because in the current -foggy and unclear- form of how used games will be handled on Xbox One, only MS would get a profit and not the publisher. I sure don't hope this crappy MS used-game policy work, but it's fair to ask in this case why the publisher doesn't get any cuts when it comes to used sales, and only the console manufacturer would.
Plus, I pretty much agree with what he says: if you want to "fight&q...
Yes, the real problem isn't about the backward compatibility with old gen but rather if we will be able to activate and play Xbox One games in the future when Microsoft would have stopped its service...
Is the author so naive to think publishers will drop prices if there are no more second-hand markets?
When you talked about Crysis 3 being on the Wii U I though "WTF is he talking about ?" Then I looked up for this info, and I read this:
http://www.gamespot.com/new...
"We were very close to launching [Crysis 3]. But there was a lack of business support between Nintendo and EA on that. Since we as a company couldn’t launch on the Wii U oursel...
CoD Ghost wasn't CG (if by CG you meant pre-rendered like an animation film), it was all real time rendering quality that you'll get if you play the game (it would've been really ugly for a CG quality).
What I found especially underwhelming with this CoD presentation is that the game looks like a current-gen CoD being maxed out on a mid-range PC, which isn't very flattering for a next-gen title...
Personally, I also found the BF4 reveal very boring and unexciti...
I agree. I also think pure animations get overlooked over the costly and so-called "performance capture". It's not something that needs to disappear, but it's definitely a trend that could use some restraint. Bioshock Infinite's Elizabeth with her cartoon-like animations was a much more emotionally engaging character than a performance-captured Sam Worthington in Avatar.
