I wonder why.
Maybe they're planning it for the sequel, and this way, they have something new to offer for it.
Royalties basically.
Maybe not, but I'm wondering what it would take.
But if it's any consolation answer....Little Big Planet 1 and especially #2 is effectively 1 big game of mods.....basically.
Certainly Sony doesn't stop devs from doing mods if that's what they want to do.
How does making car customizations make it better?
I mean, when I weigh that against More cars on the track, better physics, better realistic cars, track editor, day and night and weather cycles, higher resolution, greater "new" car detail, more modes (Kart racing, rally, Nascar, etc, better and more accessories (Logitec wheel)...More tracks, more REAL LIFE tracks.
I mean, in the 3 sentences you wrote, no where did you say, "Forza 4 has better ...
"Why wouldn't sony allow mods for it own games then???"
Sony would allow mods....As I mentioned, they already do.
It's MICROSOFT who doesn't allow them.
It's also Microsoft who, reportedly doesn't allow extra content on disk that their system doesn't get. However, I do admit that their wouldn't be a prudent way to stop them, considering how big of a franchise TES is. However, what Microsoft did was buy...
-PS3 has mod capability with Unreal Tournament 3. They did that in early in the gen in 2007...it could be done BETTER in 2011 and 2012.
-Bethesda developer(s) said they were interested in doing mods for consoles. In fact, they said it's about as simple as just turning on the debug mode for tools and whatnot....I was excited at the potential.
-A few weeks later, Bethesda developer said Mods were gonna be possible because "THE CONSOLE INFRASTRUCTURE ...
they almost always have problems.....they usually barely run, if at all.
Battlefield 3 may be different, who knows, maybe they optimized well for these lower end PCs....but typically, games not running well on Minimum spec'd PCs is almost always the case.
For consoles, there is no "go between"....developers HAVE to make those games run, or else.
We'll see how it turns out, but I'd bet that Battlefield 3 on the consoles r...
Carmack in an interview, he even says he hopes the next PS4 doesn't have Cell Architecture.
As it turns out, Old dogs don't learn new tricks very well it seems.

Consoles do pretty well despite their half gig of total ram because of careful programing optimizations.
Because of these careful optimizations, For games, What takes a PC 1 to 2 gigs of ram to accomplish, the current consoles are capable of accomplishing with 512MB. Disk Streaming, Harddrive streaming and greater use of of CPU, all of which lowers the ram overhead.
The results? Almost everytime, A console end product that performs better than the equivale...
But I think we'll potentially get the opportunity to see this with STARHAWK.
I don't accept or believe that 24 max players is all that the PS3 is capable of, and neither should anyone else.
I mean Microsoft shut down Ensemble, ACES, Digital Anvil, FASA, Have allowed RARE to become a shell of themselves, and weren't savvy enough to keep their best developer, Bungie Happy.
It's safe to say Microsoft has been utterly incompetent with their dev studios.....no question.
I used to wonder why didn't Microsoft jump at the chance to get Bioware....
Well, thank the heavens that didn't happen.
I haven't seen this whimsical game.
Has anyone?
People keep forgetting that developers have to make their games for all kinds of lower end systems, and that includes LOW END PC's and Laptops that in the current state, are typeically less capable game machines than the HD consoles.
Take WITCHER 2, a PC exclusive, was that limited by consoles? That's now coming to the XBOX 360, and I'd put money on it that the XBOX 360 version will run as ...
Too much reckless misuse of the word is the problem.
Does anyone remember where he came from?
Except when it's exclusive time.
That's only if good luck strikes, because there's a good chance XBOX 3 won't get here until 2014.
Not exactly the same mechanics, but somewhat similar outcome.
Sony really needs to ramp up their offerings if they wanna get serious.
A phone built into the Vita would be a good start.
Sony has officially abandoned the idea.
Good.
So him being a a PR-Marketing head, I really wouldn't expect him to say anything different.
