I think the whole industry is waiting to see and play this game.....I can't wait.
But I have yet to see a single 1 in any store.
You know why? Because it's LOCKED OUT of retail. Neither Walmart or Best Buys will stock it....they won't even allow the thing in their parking lots. lol
Seriously though, without retail support, I see ZERO chance of success for their console version.

If the XBOX 360 exclusive isn't named Halo(s), then they sell exactly the same as the PS3 exclusves.
In fact, PS3 sells slightly more....not by much, but slightly.
When the XBOX 360 was in development, we knew about it 2 1/2 years before it's official announcement at E3 2005.
We knew years before they officially told the public.
Why? Because we have 24 hour news, internet, camera phones...etc.
There's no console from the major players that gets by us now.
So if Microsoft really is working on it, I mean SERIOUSLY working on some new console hardware....then where is it at?
Basically, if Microsoft and Sony get serious about their next gen systems in 2012, then that pretty much means they'll have nothing out until holiday 2014.
Keep in mind it takes years to get a console designed, developed and fabricated....and with the economy and how much it costs to make, AND because a new console means starting over again which is a risk.....I don't think Sony want's to bring out a new console until 2014.

There are currently HUNDREDS of games in the PSN store. When this generation ends, there will likely be a couple thousand.
In order to play those games next generation, PS4 it will NEED to have a CELL PROCESSOR and/or a CELL compatible CPU, thus being backwards compatible.

PS2 did not have any solidified network....PS3 does.
