FXAA, being an offshoot of MLAA, is basically an advancement....a new technological invention, if you will. New idea's that will one day spawn other new ideas, and new techniques.
This is the heart of what new technology and new advancement is all about....finding new ways to do things...finding new inventions.
Next thing you know, they'll find some way to to merge the 2, MLAA, FXAA, and maybe even DLAA or something. (DLAA also a Spawn from MLAA, btw...
FXAA spawned and/or was inspired from MLAA.
Sony said,
"We will take away your OTHER OS feature,
OR
We Will take away your Online game play functionality.
That's no real choice.....
That's an ultimatum.
This is TERRIBAD for consumers and the future of consumer purchases.
And It should have been illegal.
Other OS was omitted from PS3 Slims...and those came out in late August 2009. This was before Geohot started hacking the PS3.
and they still can't get it right.
lol
As has been demonstrated.
And if you don't believe me, then just notice how ONLIVE's console version has never been spotted at any major brick and mortar retailer. Why?
Because it's effectively been locked out.
They won't even allow it in the parking lot. lol
Lesson: No retail = Dead console
.
I honestly haven't really heard of anyone really thrilled for this sequel...or is it just me?
That was fear of getting sued.
From what I understand, instead, Sony will offer better royalty rates to said publisher over a period of time.
On one hand it's good they're taking so much care with HOME, even though I don't use it all that much....
But on the other hand, every time I go to use it, and every time I turn around, there's some new update.
Catch 22 I suppose.
But I'm glad HOME is doing well.
.
Because that's exactly what they did and they should be sued or forced to return peoples money.
They aren't the only developer/publisher though....unfortunately.
Bethesda's "sneakyness" is what makes this even more insulting.
.
without a publisher?
Microsoft doesn't allow you to put you indie game on XBOX LIVE without a publisher. Therefore, if your an indie developer, you have no choice but to use Microsoft's publishing, which means less money for said developer.
As a developer, I would prefer Sony/PSN over giving money away to forced Microsoft publishing.
Just sayin.
They discovered it could be successful with PS HOME.
And they also allowed a few others to try it, like with Tecmo Koei's MMORPG, UNCHARTED WATERS ONLINE.
There will be more.
to plan, develop, fabricate, mass produce, TEST, market and launch a whole brand new console all in the span of 1 year.
It takes years to launch a successful STATE OF THE ART console.....not months.
It's taking Nintendo longer 18 - 24 months, and their hardware isn't even state of the art.
Again, no offense, but your enthusiasm should be tempered with the reality of what's doable and what isn't.
Years, not mon...
Worldwide, PS3 outsells XBOX 360 every year since 2009.
You probably misunderstood alot of the articles, as they are referring to NPD, which is the American region.
@Dlacy13g....no 2011 isn't ended, but it's pretty much over. Both will sell well but their "places" are pretty much set.
And I don't remember DICE saying we need new consoles.
New advancements and new optimization techniques in console tech keep on spewing forth. When that ceases to happen, that's when I'll be ready.
But if it's any consolation to you, Nintendo's Wii U will be coming in 1 year.
Other than that, the industry seems to side with my sentiment, so you'll be waiting for at least a couple years.
Also, why is chat a joke?
PS3 has had voice and video chat options for years.....works just fine.
Personally, I appreciate the XMB look. I saw the new update and its a big advertisement cluster-f***.
I wouldn't mind an XMB performance upgrade, I'll admit that, but there's no way I would ever want to be bombarded with ads like LIVE is currently. No thanks.
