yep. glad they've fixed alot but still imagine there will be problems. mayb venture online again tonight though :D did the first game have this many problems. i didnt buy it till late after release so by that time it ran pretty well, which is y i was amazed and how dodgy the sequel was when it first released, mainly sitting in a party waiting to join a room for 10 mins at a time on the night of release :(
will be interesting to see how this does. kinda feel the halo name will drive sales tbh even if its just an average rts. still don't believe rts can work well on a console despite c&c3 doing a gd job but that doesn't take away from the fact the pc version is better simply because you can use a m&k.

in all fairness i'd only really look at games reviewers. its like reviews for games/films etc in a local paper. it's always a laugh to see gta4 get 5/5 stars 1 week and wii music get 5/5 another lol but then any gaming sites gave wii music shocking scores... i see a pattern here.
either way i don't take much notice of reviews. tend 2 use em to find out more about a game (which can help me make a decide on whether its worth a purchase or not) rather than go off a score or what som...
didn't really notice problems in the demo and ordered earlier in fact (for ps3) but decided to play it safe so cancelled that and ordered for 360 instead. non of my mates we're getting it and was only getting it for ps3 cus i prefer trophies over achievements.
its the gameplay that matters though so would rather have the smoother running game than take my chances with the ps3 version for the sake of trophies

will probably get on pc if i do get it. i enjoyed the first game although i never actually completed it because i found it rather repetative. it looks like this one mixes things up a bit but would prefer the horror aspect to be pushed a bit more.

it depends. some games are good because they are so realistic, whereas other games should try and stick to being 1 thing rather than trying to blend. e.g rainbow six series is gd because its realistic (well not so much recently) but a game like gta was always based on just having alot of fun, now it seems to have got more serious. its still fun, just not the same
i think what didn't help too human was that it was in dev for so long. i mean back in the day it was gonna be on ps2 lol. if it hadn't been so anticipated (as a game with this sorta dev time would be) then ppl prob would accept it for an 'average' game that would sell a few copies.
and with haze it looked bad from the off tbh, and at 1 point it was gonna be a multi-plat game but then became a ps3 exclusive. some good that did haha

v high score. on average i imagine it will end up around the 9 marker judging on previews from gaming sites etc etc. imo its very rare that a game should ever get a 10 because 10 implies that its perfect e.g. i don't agree that gta4 deserved as many 10's as it got, sure its a top quality game but it still had flaws (like verything else) and if it has flaws how can it be perfect ;)
see i don't have an ipod, mac or any apple products (have used macs alot tho when programming in some lab sessions (degree)) but i wouldn't mind seeing what apple could do with a home console. Can't say if i'd buy 1 though. guess if they're really successful with the iphone as a gameing platform they would be considering joining the 'console wars' but as seen recently, console giants sony who had arguably the best consoles of the last generations are really struggling atm
at voiceofreason. i understand what you're saying but i'll try and make myself clearer. gow, scarface, the godfather etc where voilent and so on but they we're on consoles full of games like that, gow brought in the tactical 3rd person gameplay (which it did really well) and scarface/the godfather are based of of movies so they're just following the script (which is violent)

i think this probably opens peoples eyes a bit. i'm guessing most ppl on this site are American (which is why i only see npd sales stats) but actually in eu ps3 isn't too far behind 360, america 360 is storming ahead of ps3 and in japan ps3 is pretty far ahead of 360 but 360 is certainly catching. and then the wii dominates all territory lol

i'm guessing its because most reviewers only really look at the single player. e.g. even in the official playstation magazine. in the killzone 2 review the multiplayer section gets like 1 or 2 paragraphs.
the single player is really gd (i'd give it a 9/10) and online could be good if it wasn't so buggy soooo with all these patches eventually online will be fixed and ppl will be able to enjoy it.
