This is a homage. Lots of games have them and they are usually never "must use" (part of the story line or very powerful).

I bet Monopoly being released by EA is just a twisted inside joke that the EA heads snicker about; "soon..."

"The enemies were not good either ino. They had lots of them but weren't really smart."

True to Star Wars canon at least.

I reckon the game will somewhat crumble under all the unmet expectations, but I thought the demo was quite fun and it could be worthwhile anyway.

Just read some books concerning the same subjects on politics, religion, whatever really... same deal, different names.

Microsoft, Sony, or Nintendo... no difference. Some are just better than others at making their competitors look worse, same tactic as used in politics. Corporate loyalties lie purely with their shareholders, not the costumers.

The actual, non-cropped, picture in the article has the headline: "YOU WRITE WHAT YOU'RE TOLD!", which is a typical propaganda poster, which is basically what the story is about.

I think it would be more correct to say PC gaming is being killed.

By things like DRM, which might temporarily slow down pirating, but always causes a lot of hassle for everyone else as well. Stuff like games for vista doesn't help much either.

Just because Amazon has the legal right to remove any content, by their conditions of use, doesn't mean they should.

A review found useful by 3,182 of 3,447 (at this moment) clearly benefits the costumers, which *should* be any retailer's duty. Filtering out negative reviews, on a site that supposedly allows anyone to review a product, in order to sell more products is basically a scam.

Plenty of instances where something has been done "legally", where ther...

One should note the vast difference between a "fan" and a "fanboy".

A fan likes something, a fanboy hates everything that's "opposed" to his/her obsession. The difference might seem subtle at times, but it really is worlds apart.

Best comparison I can think of is religious people. There are some who enjoy having a religion and accept that others might have a different one or none at all. Then there are some who fanatically try to impose ...

Nice, really hope it's more like the first game than the second.

If the quality of the content is good, I'm sure lots of people will pick it up even with all those other games, probably not on day 1 tho.

They could go crazy with the sequel names, like: "Left 2 Die 4 Real" and "Left 3 Times 2 Die Already 4 F's Sake".

To complain about an online game, subject to lag and such, not being completely twitch-based seems a bit... dumb (brainless*).

PvP games can be twitch-based since lag is more or less equal for both sides, but player vs AI is a different story.

A PC fanboy more-hardcore-than-thou article, pretty pointless too.

Some games, such as Mass Effect and Gears of War, give bonuses based on achievements.

In Mass Effect, most achievements give you bonuses for subsequent runs, like unlocking weapons/skills or increased exp gains. Gears of War 2 will apparently have more characters playable in multiplayer based on your Gears of War achievements.

The way Mass Effect does it should be mandatory/strongly encouraged for most of the harder achievements/trophies imo.

One could almost get the impression that the next-gen consoles aren't competing with the Wii either, from all the PR mumbo jumbo. It is true as far as XBL and VC is concerned anyway, arcade games don't really push any hardware.

People with both consoles might even end up getting both versions due to the different control schemes.

Predictions about future technology based on current technology hasn't always proven itself so logical. I suspect there will be other factors than just technology that will decide the fate of physical distribution.

And what makes this even stranger is Viva Piñata: Pocket Paradise being developed for the DS.

I really can't get my head around why they don't just release it on both VC and XBL and make everyone happy. Nintendo earns money, Microsoft earns money and lots of happy costumers everywhere... what do they stand to lose?

"Finally, I’d be remiss if I didn’t ask what everyone wants to know...what’s up with Duke Nukem Forever?

George Broussard: It’s going really well. There are several hours of fairly polished game to play. We’re actively testing parts of the game and getting feedback from play testers and things are coming together. It’s fun, it’s in focus, we know what bits are fun and which are not, and it’s just a matter of time now. I’ve probably never been as happy or excited about the ga...

Initially aimed at the portable spectrum, hence the need for better surface reading. Or so the article suggests anyway.

Bluetooth, Blu-ray (named after the blue laser that reads the disc, so technically blue-ray I guess), Blue Track... I see a trend.
