“It is 22nd December,” said the rep. “I believe one site stated 12th which was a mistake, and as with all these sort of things it got some traction. We always said mid December.”

Well, technically 12th December is "mid December" while 22nd December is "late December". Annoying when PR people spin the simplest of "it got delayed" into "you're too stupid for simple math anyway".

Yes, that is about as offensive as it gets on a gamer site and definitely ban-worthy.

The fanboys doing this need to understand that they are not only potentially ruining the game for the evil opposing fanboys, but actually for anyone who happen to own several consoles, or anyone else who simply has nothing to do with your silly little "war"... but I guess those people are traitors and/or cowards?

I doubt therapy can help that.

We're seeing what the camera is seeing, but there's no telling what that guy is seeing... he sounds like really high on some serious stuff.

"My definition of GOTY is simple ....the game that I remember enjoying most all year."

Okay, so basically you agree completely with what I said.

I think some of you are forgetting that they are not giving awards based on YOUR experience, but actually theirs. Even if X-play were the only people in the whole world that liked Fable 2, their opinion would still be equally justified.

It's almost as if people demand these awards to be based purely o...

My thoughts exactly, the "monopoly" on the definition of art is basically so-called academics that refuse to forfeit their all-knowing status.

I'm not quite in agreement that certain type of games are holding back the medium however. Sure, I'd much prefer more games like Planescape: Torment (which I recently replayed, and it's still as much art now as it was in 1999) over say Gears of Wars, but that's my personal preference. I do not acknowledge my own, or anyone else's...

The game that gave the best gaming experience, despite it's flaws, to the people giving out the awards is a lame reason?

I'd love to hear your definition of a "good game".

Reasonable points, even (perhaps especially) the last. Despite how lousy game manuals have become after they had to cram them inside a thin DVD case, it's not all too rarely that you can find well hidden, but useful game features in them.

Dungeon Keeper 3, to be announced together with another breaking news story; "EA has finally realized it might be wise to not let completely awesome IPs they own go to complete waste".

Please?

Perhaps whoever reviewed the game only previously played it on 360 or he just prefers that controller, but it's all merely speculation anyway.

What really makes the comment bad is the fact that you can actually use 360 (and PS3) controllers on a PC.

Yes, and so is the PC and 360. Which is why Blizzard will hopefully make this 3-way compatible, through the wonder known as battle.net, for absolute win.

Why the obvious flame bait in the gamer zone?

This game looks rather nice for the genre, first one was good. It's no diablo, but if the local co-op on the console versions turn out well, it should be solid enough to satisfy the occasional hack and slash urge.

Well done, but the cookie is a lie.

Hmm, suppose I should add something to the thread as well before this turns into pure spam.

They should mix the "A rival to our hero" and "Two branching storylines" together, in a way that if you chose to be the good hero, you get rival evil heroes and vice versa. Could be a cool balancing factor, and if you keep neutral, your rivals are more mercenary-like, where they don't care about you, but just compete for ...

Buying and valuing things based on their ability to induce jealousy amongst neighbours could and should be considered craziness as well, but that's the world we live in I guess. Come to think about it, this speaker cable is starting to make more and more sense.

There are people who actually read the user's manual that comes with gaming consoles?

The shroud of the media has fallen. Begun, the hype war has.

I know Bioware can deliver good games, but with EA and Lucas Arts involved, there's no telling how this one will turn out.

The PS3 video review of Dead Space has 360 controls appearing in it. What does that mean? That multiplatform games nowadays are so identical that it's pointless to make several videos would be my guess. Or it could mean nothing whatsoever. Either way is fine I suppose.

Oh and you mean his name is HILARIOUS, right? Get it...? The simple joys of life.

Gothic 1 and 2 were my favourite open-world games. The worlds were large enough to offer some fun exploring while at the same time having the "hand-made" feel to everything, unlike the usual cut-and-paste job of open-word games. The faction system was also great in the way it affected the game. Too bad Gothic 3 was such a disappointment, hopefully Gothic 4 will get it right again.

Yeah the first one was great. We'll have to wait and see on this one, perhaps it will just be different in a good way.
