At this point they have to focus on 1st party titles, as purchasing more 3rd party exclusives is cost prohibitive as the PS4 install base sits around 2X and continues to expand. So the amount a publisher would demand to remove a game from PS4 is increasing.
This is going to be a very interesting Gamescom, where Sony has devoted a sizeable amount of show floor space, but will have no press conference. Does this mean their floor will be largely devoted to Morpheus? Could be.
One side-effect of this arrangement is they have set the expectations to zero. Some people are saying/reporting that Sony "won't even be at Gamescom" this year, which is of course not true, but it shows how much this idea has permeated. So if...
The most interesting thing to me about this game is the day/night (and other weather) cycle that follows what's happening in real life around you - and it changes the gameplay. I thought there was something magical about Animal Crossing when they did that, and it seems like this game is making that change matter even more.
While I appreciate this article is trying to compare the two games, I sincerely hope no one is trying to make their purchasing decisions based on it.
Price
Guitar Hero Live with two guitars is $150. Rock Band 4 with all instruments is $250. This is true and must be what the article is referring to as a price difference. It fails to mention however there is a $100 option for GHL with one guitar, and a $130 option for RB4 with one guitar.

In other news Microsoft will be changing their name to Micro
You can have your COD maps on Xbox One if we can have Rise of the Tomb Raider on PS4 in 2015, deal?
I presume they'd be streaming PC versions of games only, yes?
I'm glad Andrew House agrees, it suggests they realize having more first party support in the future is important. I'd be much more worried if he was saying everything was great as-is.
Not sure about the rumors, but it was just announced on PSblog and Ground Zeroes is definitely included :-)

A nice thought, but a bit ridiculous considering the game's file size is likely to be tiny (despite how epic the game scope is). Just as silly as releasing Minecraft to retail was.
That said, there's something special about having a tangible game box for these indie games :-)
Well... a few of these songs are appealing to me, at least :-/
Interestingly, four of these songs have been on the Rock Band platform over the years (Killers, Rage, Judas Priest, SoaD). If RB4 is still supporting those back-catalog songs does that mean GH is only starting with 20 unique songs? I don't remember seeing this amount of overlap between the two franchises before.
I hope for Sony's sake this isn't real (hate to see some of their E3 thunder get spoiled ahead of time, yet again)
I hope for everyone else's sake that this is real :-)
I predict Microsoft's press conference at this year's Gamescom will "beat" Sonys ;-)
Can we avoid all these "What Happened to ____?" articles until *after* E3?
Any game that was set to come out this year but we haven't seen in a little while (No Man's Sky, The Tomorrow People, The Witness, etc.) are likely to show up there, and/or are in crunch mode right now and too busy to put together a new press kit let alone a fancy trailer.
Patience, people! :-)
"With Twitter becoming more and more important for gaming news, Spencer and Xbox’s head of marketing Aaron Greenberg fire up their twitter accounts almost daily to answer questions from fans and do the occasional teasing. This kind of interaction appeals the fans and while Sony does speak out on Twitter now and then, Sony’s key figures Andrew House, Jim Ryan and Shawn Layden don’t appear to appeal as much as Spencer seems to do."
Clearly this writer is not following...
I would LOVE if #IDARB came to PS4, but the controller limit (4) vs. what Xbox One has (8) concerns me. PS3 can handle 7 I think, and not sure what Vita can do ad-hoc so if it's cross-buy/cross-play with those systems we'd at least be able to get more than 4 locally.
Well I hate to break it to them/you, Microsoft is probably not going to win this generation (where "win" is defined as overall console sales)
Certainly comebacks are possible, stranger things have happened, but there are a number of things stacked against them this time around that are harder to overcome (less powerful hardware, less global market penetration, less developer support, lack of trust in the community)
While that would be lovely, my fear is Microsoft has remained largely silent because they... don't have much to say. Either the games they are working on are too far out, or they are waiting to have a really solid E3, or worse yet they really don't have much in the pipeline.
Despite their ID@Xbox initiative they don't seem to have quite the avalanche of indie support their competition does, and that shows with week after week of news articles about new games comi...
As I've said, it feels like The Order: 1886 is the dull and dusty thermite cloud thrown out to lay a foundation, so that the spark of the sequel can set everything ablaze
Even though it was early footage, it's amazing how much I must have "imprinted" on the original version of Jack, as this feels like a different game to me now. Oh well.
It doesn't help that nearly all of their old promo shots had that guy in them: http://www.paradiger.com/wp...
