Right after the last review rolls in.
Mo' pixels, mo' problems :-)
What an awful thing to have occurred.
"They tried to silence me by offering $20,000 if I signed a letter agreeing to the termination as well as to not discuss it with anyone. 4/"
The way this is presented makes the termination offer sound very fishy, but this could be a fairly typical severance agreement with $20k / X% consideration. Most people would never intend to make a claim and prefer to have the severance, but in this case it seems that ...
I would certainly rather have a game come to the platform I own without a few maps or skins (content exclusivity), than not have the game come to it at all (console exclusivity, which MS clearly still has no qualms about)
And incidentally that phrase "using Xbox Live across multiple devices" is likely precisely why Sony doesn't want cross-platform play for Minecraft on PS4. They have no incentive to "grow the business" for Microsoft.
Yikes. I think they should bring the game to PlayStation plus to bring in more people. I'd probably give it a shot there.
Your Xbox One protects your TV from burn in... by having nothing to play on it.
(Actually, this dimmer + eraser feature is pretty cool :-)
Well, if it were me I'd rather spend that $499 on 8+ excellent new games only on Xbox One.
The fact that these conversations still seem to revolve around PC (better graphics) or PS4 (better content) shows you exactly why an Xbox One remains a hard sell for some folks.
Not sure why so many PS4 games were left off the list. Here are nine they forgot:
Obduction (Aug 29)
Everybody's Golf (Aug 30)
Last Day of June (Aug 31)
Tooth and Tail (Sep 12)
Ys VIII: Lacrimosa of Dana (Sep 12)
Hob (Sep 26)
EVE: Valkyrie (Oct 13)
Hidden Agenda (Oct 25)
Horizon Zero Dawn: Frozen Wilds DLC (Nov 7)
I'm glad they're happy with it so far. That $499 price tag remains a concern for me, so let's see if it continues to see good sales beyond this initial surge of interest.
While this is undoubtedly encouraging for the Xbox One X, the comparison to PS4 Pro using Amazon's top 100 list doesn't make much sense. There is a single Xbox One X SKU available (the Project Scorpio Edition), and at least three PS4 Pro SKUs that I see (Pro alone, Pro + Destiny 2, Pro + controller). Only the Pro alone is in the top 100 currently, so what are the sales for the other two? Who knows. So it doesn't make much sense to compare one singular SKU to only one out of th...
Maybe it's just me but the way Forza's cars seem to bob around makes it seem like their suspension is broken. It makes the game appear more exciting I guess, just not sure it's very accurate.
I would say Crash remaster, Knack 2, Moss and maybe VR in general are trying to bring in a younger audience.
And PlayLink titles are trying to bring in people that don't even normally play games.
Will any of it work? We'll have to see.
The full quote is indies are less relevant *for an E3 showcase* now. I think the indie games themselves are as relevant as ever.
I thought it was a good games showcase, but not a particularly good showing for Xbox. Of those 22 exclusives, I am only able to find 7 that aren't timed exclusives (ie that aren't ultimately coming to PS4 too):
Forza 7
State of Decay 2
Sea of Thieves
Super Lucky's Tale (sequel to Lucky's Tale on Oculus)
Cuphead
Crackdown 3
Ori and the Will of the Wisps
And it looks delightful, doesn't it?
I love couch co-op, so I'm glad to see this feature in place too :-)
Scorpio won't "change the industry" if all its games still have to run on Xbox One as well.
At this point they could easily create a "starting at" $399 Scorpio SKU for folks transitioning from the standard Xbox One, that doesn't have a game or controller, and has maybe a smaller harddrive. Then the "normal" system a new person might buy would be $499 and up (and come with a controller, maybe a game, maybe Gold)
Recall this is how the Xbox One S first launched at $349 & $399 even though they advertised it "starting at $299", w...
I'll let you know after we know if Scorpio will launch at $399 or not.
(if it's more than $399, yes it was too soon)
I don't know what they could really do at this point that would actually move the needle, but some ideas, I suppose:
Hololens
VR support
Minecraft 2
