Not true. With next gen consoles adopting the 30fps standard again, animation and the fluidity that comes with higher fps and work hand in hand remains stagnant.

The new gen was the perfect opportunity to introduce next gen animation which imo requires more fps.

We are the same. I don't build high end PCs for the eyecandy. I absolutely must be at a 60fps minimum. I have no problem dropping down the graphics to achieve this

people seriously underestimate how much of a difference fps makes. If I were a dev I'd shoot for fps first resolution second.

I have a bunch of console gaming coworkers. I've asked them about cod vs battlefield. Being completely oblivious to terms like fps, resolutions, etc. They all told me that cod is faster. at first I thought more enclosed more action faster ok makes sense. But they explained to me how it felt faster. Without realizing it they had stumbled upon w...

Fps has nothing to do with graphics. 30 And 60 fps are two completely different experiences. I game at over 100fps btw. 30 Fps is a massive headache for me now.

if valve shoots for 60fps gaming they have a serious shot to run away with the crown.

Meh it sold more than any ps3 exclusive on pc...lol

Pre-Diablo 3 I wouldn't have argued that. That really would have put a damper on pc gamer elitists spirits.

Post-Diablo 3 I don't know anyone who even plays D3 anymore. I played it for a week. Even before this release Blizzard had been losing their reputation amongst the pc crowd. In my own personal opinion I believe it started with Pandas.

This article only served one purpose btw. to make the top of n4g for hits.

So 30fps then huh...that's a shame. Hopefully this isn't the standard. I've gamed at over 75 fps for the past few years on my pc. It's been pretty much the fps standard since 02 for anyone that plays online and enjoys the competitive aspect of gaming.

In fact for awhile LCD monitors were shunned by the fps crowd at first due to being limited to 60 fps. This was almost 10 years ago!!!

There's this term that gets thrown around a lot in pc gaming called "bullshots" which is what you linked. Screenshots and trailers should never be taken seriously but console gamers fall for it every single time. Gameplay video is what most people should use to backup their statements.

Thing is though I've seen shadows fall video. It looks good in your eyes sure but as a high end pc gamer I wasn't as impressed as I was when ps3 was announced. Looks pretty l...

Oh god console gamers are at the vram phase. Welcome to 10 years ago. I advise you now to educate yourselves as to how vram works hand in hand with the rest of the board before you speak up.

Most of these comments are pretty entertaining and shows how ignorant fanboys are.

I've seen crysis 3 on ultra btw. From a purely technical standpoint killzone sf doesn't come close. I do however enjoy the killzone universe more so take that as you will

I agree when the ps3 launched there was no way a pc of similar price would be close to competing with it.

With the ps4 just your average high end pc is already more powerful. I've noticed people getting excited but to be honest I'm not seeing a huge graphics jump like most devs have already predicted we wouldn't. the ps4 will be something Sony finally did right in the last 5 years don't get me wrong. This was exactly what I had hoped for spec wise for next-ge...

Actually I'd hope they skip MAG and allow ps4 and pc users to play Planetside 2 together. PS2 is a Sony title and it would be a very good way to introduce free to play to the console market. Since in my opinion PS2 is one of the the extremely few to do f2p pricing right.

this is what I meant with my above comment. I almost right away noticed they weren't using high res textures. Miles better than ps3 textures yes the lighting did alot to hide this which only goes to show how talented these devs are. However to pc gamers that play in high end. It was immediately noticeable.

I love alot about the ps4 the 8gb ddr5 that its x86 based processor the APU. Sony clearly wanted no repeat to happen here and I can only commend them for that.

ehhh it looks ok. I like that the ps4 has 8gb of ram. though. Though I didn't see much high res textures. I'm not impressed as it looks too much like I'd imagine a futuristic battlefield 2143 would look on the new frostbite engine. Current PC's have already been at this level for awhile.

I'm wondering if they are going to shoot for a 60fps game or a full 1080p 30fps game.

The direction next-gen devs are going with fps determines if I even ...

I've been fortunate enough to have used my mouse and keyboard on the the 360 with my Xim.

It wasn't pretty. In fact it wasn't even much of a challenge. ROFLstomping controller users gets boring quick.
