And the Killzone series could certainly use some humor. I'm a big fan, but it has always taken itself a little too seriously. Looking forward to it!
but don't really want to program them. The creative side - story, writing, character development, concept art, etc... - would be more in my area. Still, for the aspiring game maker this software would be useful and a genuine opportunity.
I doubt it will actually spell the end of console gaming - it must first prove a viable platform and that won't be easy - but it does represent a turn in traditional gaming. The fact is OnLive isn't even the only company trying to go this route. Ever heard of Gaikai?
IN the end, I wish OnLive the absolute best. This is a challenging industry and any new competitor deserves a reasonable shot at success.
Ya baby, YA!!
Ya, the tech is what had me interested. I was never naive enough to think that a camera and jumping around would replace the precision and accuracy of a controller or keyboard/mouse.
The tech is just interesting. The facial recognition and interface.
I love my 360, but Kinect--which i had been way excited for--is just looking worse each day. Honestly, that's too bad because I was genuinely looking forward to it. Hopefully Msoft has some tricks left up its sleeve for their new Motion controls.
Worst of all, every price i have seen associated with Kinect is terrible.
but it was the other way around after all. Way to prove me wrong Sony!
That Gaming Site published this news yesterday. I'm very excited for this!
The Fallout Universe is the perfect place for an MMO. I can't wait for more info.
Now, most people don't move their console when playing. There is typically not much point in so doing. However, my tenant and I have both accidentally bumped his 360 while playing and it is in an entertainment center. It scratched his copy of Halo 3 pretty bad.
Interestingly, my 60 gig 360 CAN BE MOVED while playing a game and it doesn't have this problem. Weird. Anyway, it really is just too bad. My Wii doesn't do this and neither does my PS3.
Gotta love Steam. They always manage to get some deals out there. Cool they went with EA games this round. The Bethesda round was great last week.
Honestly, I love my 360, but from Msoft's E3 presentation I haven't seen any games for Kinect that stand out from the Wii I already own.
Honestly: Where is the quality, highly interactive, high budget, engaging, AAA game that will convince me that Kinect is MORE THAN WII HD.
SAME FOR YOU SONY, I DON'T NEED A WII HD.
Microsoft will reveal something that actually makes "Kinect" seem worth the effort and $$.
In general, Move and Kinect better bring out something awesome, cuz I already have a Wii and I don't need Wii Sports in HD. The point is, are these motion controls really bringing something new? I hope so but as of yet I haven't seen it.
I won't do it. Honestly. If PC can provide online for free, so can the consoles.
Steam isn't close to a monopoly. Furthermore, this writer needs the wambulance big time!
I love steam, i've loved the L4D series, Portal, and look forward to their future products. This guy can cry boo hoo all the way home.
And what an awesome way to use a Ghostbusters' quote. It would be fun to fight mouse and keyboard against controller gamers. It wouldn't be fair, but it would be awesome!
Xbox and PS3 have long appealed to a primarily Hardcore gamer audience. Most of these Hardcore gamers have already purchased a wii if they were interested in motion controls.
I own a Wii, PS3, and 360 and have little interest in the latest motion gimmicks. Natal has potential if it works, particularly with the voice and face recognition, but at what cost? Are the games going to be in depth, quality pieces or just Wii party games in HD?
With Blu-ray, free online, blu-tooth, built-in wireless, and a solid library - both multi-platform and exclusives - now is the time to "jump in" to a PS3.
I love my 360 too, but this is a PS3 article.
Of the predictions made in the article, an Elder Scrolls V announcement would shoot me into gaming Nirvana. I've sunk HUNDREDS of hours into Oblivion and I'm STILL playing, particularly w/mods these days. That game just keeps going.
Starcraft II is gonna blow my mind as well.
Internet speeds obviously need to increase internationally, but the tech is very doable and the concept more than sound. I'm excited to try it myself soon. I hope my internet can keep up.
