that people of many console types should benefit from their skill. I love what they have done for my PS3. I'm excited to see what they hold in the future beyond the highly anticipated Resistance 3.
and any consumer is absolutely entitled to his/her own opinion. However, I think the true core of my argument is simply the basic rights of ownership. The fact is, I can sell virtually anything I have purchased through legal means, regardless of whether I own the intellectual property (i.e. video games), the brand (clothing), the copyright (books), patent, license, model, design, or blueprints. In fact, I am well within my legal rights as a consumer to build an entire business based on selli...
Even though I don't mind digital distribution, a solid of portion of gamers worldwide much prefer a physical format. By voting w/their wallets they immediately ensure at least a few more years of physical gaming formats. Good for them for making the industry listen to consumers.
I mean, it obviously cuts into the sales of new games (which is their primary monitory source),but how is that different than ANY OTHER INDUSTRY? Millions of people buy used cars every year from private sellers. Ford, Mercedes, Nissan, Toyota, etc... miss out on countless sales each year because so many consumers buy used. It has been that way for decades and automakers accept that fact.
Moving on, If I buy a couch at a yard sale or second hand store, a furniture store/man...
Totally going w/the PC version :)
And more. I have a few titles through GFWL (Fallout 3 GOTYE, GTA IV) and they work fine and let me interact w/friends on Xbox live as I play. It might not be the best service, but it certainly works fine.
than the delivery method. I'm all for Digital distribution, I'm not for cutting chunks of game that should have been there in the first place and then having to buy it as "DLC."
1) Game sales this gen have made billions on every current platform, even @ the high price of $50 - $60. The point is, people will happily pay good money if the product they are receiving is QUALITY. Lowering the price of a sub-par game doesn't make me any more likely to buy.
2) 50-60% of all my game purchases over the last 8 months have been digital and the price is almost universally better than buying a physical game disc. Ex. I got Left 4 Dead 2 on PC for $25. All...
I've even put a 320 gig HDD in it and I love every second of Uncharted 2, Killzone, and GoWIII. Why is it, I can't help but wonder, that I'm one of the only people on here willing to admit the 360 version looks better? As owner of both consoles I'm gonna have to go w/the 360 version.
The real sad part though is that Red Dead isn't available on PC. It would have been beautiful.
But I'm more enthused for Fallout: New Vegas. That and whenever Bethesda gets around to announcing Elder Scrolls V.
It's nice to know which version is superior. With a growing number of reports corroborating the differences in both versions, I will be going with the 360. Just as I chose FFXIII on PS3 for obvious reasons.
Kudos to Valve for seeing that a good, community based, multi-platform digital distribution channel was the future of computer gaming.
With almost two-dozen games in my Steam Library for PC I've already began putting available titles on my Macbook pro. In other words, my Steam PC library is slowly becoming mobile on my Mac. Freakin' awesome.
PSP is needing a little love these days.
Been playing on PC. Lots of support from the Dev and huge value for my money. BBC2 DESERVES to be successful. Dice has done a great job.
I've got a whole suite of Steam PC titles and it is gonna be awesome playing them on the road w/my new Macbook Pro. :)
God bless Steam and Valve. Yes, I own a PS3 too...and I can still like Valve.
Age of Conan is a top-notch MMO (actually designed w/ADULTS in mind)and the Godslayer expansion has looked to bring the game to entirely new levels.
Sweet action.
The classic series. I've enjoyed this three part wrap up. Makes me hungry for a future installment! Bring it back!
Honestly, I loved it. It was so fun and such visual stunner for little white system that could. The sequel looks even better. Still, Edge is usually as tight fisted with a perfect score as they come.
Good to see.
As a consumer of both physically and digitally distributed material I find a manual not only appropriate with physical media but also useful. Not only do they often provide important information - hints, controls, further story details, unique art and more - but they do so while I'm in-game on a console. Without a Manual, during those rare points when I am stuck, I might very well have to pause the game, find a computer and peruse all too many different gaming sites for the info I need. Wit...
The sequel, from what I have seen, is looking even better.
