Well I suppose Microsoft will want to see what Natal does for them in Japan.
But Yeah.
A heroic effort to do well in the Japanese market, but coming up well short of the mark for the 2nd generation Xbox.
Better luck Next gen Microsoft.
I haven't watched the WWE in so long I don't even know half these guys.
At least Y2J's still hanging around.
There is a lot of hype around this game, and being a new IP we don't really know what to expect.
It could go either way.
For the record, I hope it's a successful title for Remedy and Microsoft.
Yes I know IW are a 3rd party, I was just making the point that MS are offering the Halo bundle as well as the MW2 Bundle.
I probably should have done a better job of clarifying. Sorry.
And yes I also think the all blacks will lose this weekend.
NZRU board and coaching staff all need to be sacked.
How could they not hire Robbie Deans?
Absolutely no surprise.
The thing was dead as soon as Microsoft 1-uped it with the Natal video.
Remember the kid scanning in his skateboard? once that was shown I can remember comments on websites like this one asking what's the point of the Tony Hawk Ride peripheral now?
cheap?
To be fair, Microsoft are also releasing a Halo3/H3ODST 250gb bundle as well as the MW2 bundle.
So MS are showing some 1st/2nd party love as well.
Edit) Thanks Kain81, I was unaware of that.
Sony and Microsoft going blow for blow.
This is great for consumers, I can see these two bringing out Forza3/GT5 bundles as well, as some have stated above.
Both company's are bringing their A game.
And just like that Microsoft have entered the portable market...
(sort of).
I've been interested in the guitar hero games for a while now,as they do actually look like fun games but have never bought one.
If I do ever buy any product developed or published by Activision I will make sure its a used copy.
A small protest I know but its all I can do.
should Microsoft release a 360 slim?
I don't see it as a necessity for them to do so, the most important thing for them is to get the failure rate of the current models under control. (witch it looks like Jasper is doing).
The major thing that the 360 need is EXCLUSIVE GAMES.
more production from there first party studios is the one big thing that can help get Microsoft where it wants to be. If they need to buy more studios to do it then so be it.
...
I hope Spencer has a good hard look at Microsoft's first party studios.
Hopefully we can get a stronger line up of exclusive titles in the coming years.
Strange how getting it fixed is number 8 on the list. wouldn't that be your 1st option?
Nice but pointless little read.
EA don't look so bad now eh?
If Activision Blizzard keep these kinds of practices up I can't see the company going anywhere but down.
Game developers need to take risks to push the industry forward, if all these guys are gonna do is keep milking the guitar Hero and Call of Duty franchises then consumers will vote with there wallets.
This guy's in the wrong industry.
"We have a real culture of thrift. The goal that I had in bringing a lot of the packaged goods folks into Activision about 10 years ago was to take all the fun out of making video games."
The executive said that he has tried to instill into the company culture "skepticism, pessimism, and fear" of the global economic downturn, adding, "We are very good at keeping people focused on the deep depression." <...
Have fun guys.
That MS are hoping that Natal will change there fortunes in Japan.
To do that they will have to show it with something new in the way of software (not the same burnout and breakout demos) at TGS.
They are also going to have to release as close to the PS wand as possible.
I believe the hardware itself is close enough to do this, but the games?
I hope for Microsoft's sake that their first party developers have been working on something thats c...
Yes you did beat me to it.
But it is a valid point.
Well done.
Yeah it might be all on for young and old once Natal is released.
But it's gonna have to be pretty bloody good to get the Japan numbers up for the 360.
And who's to say the Japanese won't just flock to the PS motion control thingie?
Most people didn't give the Xbox much of a chance do compete against the Playstation and Nintendo brands, but here we are today with all three having a nice slice of the pie.
If Microsoft throw some advertising cash behind this thing anythings possible.
