Excuse my ignorance, but the quote...
"This could permit augmented reality type of games where virtual objects and characters could interact with the real scenes that the players are in"
Is this something similar to what Milo is trying to accomplish? or am I not understanding this thing properly?
Things like this happen I suppose, no big deal if you ask me.
It was well handled by Sony by the sound of it.
PS3 slim did a lot of "selling"
Neither the Wii or the 360 are dead.
I believe a lot of the negativity for Natal from the "hardcore" crowd is probably more telling of what gamers have become, rather then what games/consoles are evolving into.
I would have thought the a true gamer would rise to the challenge of a new type of game or control interface.
Are we so stuck in our ways with our blinkers on that we dismiss a controller because " there is no analogue stick." Hell I remember a time before analogue sticks, and...
Nobody's "killing" anyone.
All three consoles have a great user base that will see them well supported.
To those who have the spare cash for all three I say good on you.
As for the rest of us. Just pick the platform the suits your needs and let's stop all the bickering.
Just fix the shooting/aiming for DR2 and I will love it.
"Sony gives us reality and micro gives us????????possibility?"
I also have to disagree with this comment, Microsoft have shown Natal working, playing games and navigating the 360 dashboard.
I'm positive that if Microsoft had a keynote at TGS they would have shown something similar to what Sony did.
Natal is working. It's been shown to the press and developers behind closed doors and featured in some TV shows.
Development kits have been shipped to Studios and from what we have been told most are working on games for it.
But Microsoft have been very quiet since the E3 unavailing. They hope that Natal will give the 360 some fresh legs going forward, witch it could do.
Some have noticed some minor lag in Natal's motion tracking, I would like to think t...
With Sony having the advantage of two keynote presentations they clearly had the better platform to show what they had on offer.
As far as the motion control war goes you really have to give this round to Sony for actually showing something.
although It seems there is an interest in Natal from Japanese developers. Dose that mean they are all making games for it?
Sooner or later Microsoft are going to have to show what their development partners are doing...
Probably nothing.
It just looks like a large fuse box to me.
How about announcing some games for the damn thing.
Don't get me wrong, reading the comments of some of these developers has really got me exited for what Natal can bring to the table, but c'mon we need to hear some details of these projects in development.
Can we at least get a release date?
I wonder if there's a possibility of getting Halo CE and Halo 2 remade for the 360 using the Reach engine?
Similar to what Sony's doing with God of War.
Just so we can have the whole series on one console.
You are absolutely correct in that EA's strength is in their multiplatform titles, so if MS or anyone for that matter were to buy them I don't believe they would cut that revenue stream just to spite the other console makers.
If MS were to buy EA (looks like its not going to happen) I would have thought that all multiplatform deals would have stayed as they were.
of course they almost certainly would have selected a handful of IPs to become exclusive to their console...
Apparently Disney and Time Warner are also looking at EA.
If Microsoft don't buy EA I'm sure one of those two will.
MS may end up kicking themselves if they were in a position to but didn't.
I don't see the need for a slim 360.
Microsoft have been constantly revising the chipsets and motherboards of the 360 anyway.
Improvements have been made even if you can't see them.
How many times dose it have to be said "the 360 needs more exclusive software" thats all.
I think you could probably cross Madden, FIFA, NFS, Battlefield, Star wars, The Sims, Fight Night, NHL, Lord of the Rings and Harry Potter off your list.
I would think MS would pick and choose witch IPs will become exclusives. It would probably look more like
Mirror's Edge
C&C
Mass effect
Destroy all Humans
Dead Space
SSX
Rock Band (maybe).
I really don't know what to make of this.
MS knows that EA make there money from being a multiplatform developer/publisher, so I can't see every EA game becoming an Xbox/PC exclusive. There's just too much money there to ignore.
If Sony or Nintendo want EA titles on there platforms I guess MS get a cut of any deals hammered out, thats the way business is I'm afraid.
It's the same thing if say MS or Nintendo want to put in a blue ray drive in any future c...
I cannot agree more with what you have said about Sony's inability to market KZ2 properly.
I saw the ODST advertisement on TV last night and holy crap on a stick it was great! It was like watching a trailer for a Halo movie, the thing must have cost a fortune to make, it also felt like it was three or four minutes long.
Just fantastic.
The article is pretty vague, I can't really form an opinion on this until we know whats happening with EA's big multiplatform titles.
I think rather than buying EA outright MS might be looking at acquiring a few of there development houses or IP's
Bioware and Pandemic would be my studios of choice.
Regarding the lag and bugs.
Is that something for Microsoft to work on with the Natal hardware? or is there some room for improvement in the programing/software side of things?
A bit of both perhaps?
can anyone answer?
