I have been buying nearly all my games used this gen.
Should I feel bad about that? I don’t think so. I have a mortgage to pay and a wife and two children to support, so cash is tight in my household.
I have been buying games brand new since the 16 bit (SNES / Mega drive) era. So I feel I have done my part for the industry as a consumer.
I will buy new games again when I can justify doing so, but right now my money is better spent elsewhere.

Bungie will be fine.
I’m more interested in how 343 Industries plan on handling Halo going forward.
This game took years off my life.
I was the only person in my circle of friends to actually finish it.
Some of the secrets in this game are quite hard to find.
OK.
This plus Kinect Sports, Sonic Racers, and Maybe Your shape Fitness?
Looks like I'm going to have to get a Kinect sometime next year. Wow I surprised myself.
As a 360 only owner I’m not really disappointed with the news of ME going to the PS3 but I am discussed with the reaction from Microsoft.
Is THAT your answer guys? Bury your heads in the sand and say “Oh well. It’s still better on our console”
Microsoft should be furious about this. Mass Effect was one of their tent pole games for the 360. The original deal between MGS and Bioware was done before or at least during EA’s acquisition of Bioware. Microsoft has m...
Let’s be fair.
The Xbox brand has done better in Japan this generation when compared to the last.
As for doing better? I think it’s just a matter of sticking it out and building on the current install base. I don’t have the numbers but how many 360s have been soled in Japan to date? At a guess 1 million? Maybe 1.5?
The Xbox is still the new kid as far as console gaming in Japan is concerned. The RROD was a major issue of course, but the brand...
I agree 100%.
The only big announcements you are going to here from Gamescom will be coming from Sony.
Microsoft will provide a token appearance, and Nintendo along with Sega and Capcom aren’t even showing up.
Tokyo Games Show will be the next major proving grounds for developers and the big three platform holders. I don’t expect to hear much form anyone until then.
People seem to be getting a little carried away with their expectations.
Microsoft have never had a huge presence at Gamescom, It would be crazy to think that they are going to suddenly announce a slew of new “hardcore” titles.
They have the rest of their 2010 planned out and I doubt we sill see anything new to be announced this year.
It’s going to be Kinect stuff, Halo Reach stuff, Gears 3 stuff, Fable 3 stuff, and not much else.

Sounds like a nice relaxed event.
I got Banjo Kazooie, and Viva Pinata.
Will get Alan Wake sometime down the road.
Also I do not own one single COD game.
That pen and ink filter looks great.
Halo Noir anyone?
Probably about the same amount of PS3 owners that went out and did the same thing.
Just a guess
I was repying to Mr Drago's post.
Jolly, your numbers ar spot on, going with the numbers he has quoted.
Try reading the numbers in the article and re-do your math.
Can someone talk this guy down from the tower?
They talk about Kinect's lack of accuracy and the amount of lag, and then post a video of it working pretty bloody well.
Why not show the trouble they were having with the menus and hurdles?
I'm not calling them liers by any means, but the video just didn't match up to the written description. Did Rare somehow confiscate any video footage of Kinect performing poorly?
I think both will do well enough to be considered viable. They each have some good things going for them and are different enough from each other that they can co-exist with out one “winning “ over the other.
Kinect’s biggest hurdle is the lack of software that appeals to the Xbox’s core demographic. And the fact that we still don’t know how much better the software can get in regards to accuracy and response time or lag.
Move’s problems seem to be a total la...
Anyone here remember playing Wizard of Wor on the C64 or Atari?
This thread has just brought so many memories flooding back and that game was one of my long forgotten favorites.
Here’s a screen shot to jog some memories.
This game was awesome in two player as well as Smash TV and Double Dragon.
"No one cared which console you owned, but how much fun the games were."
I remember going out of my way to own different consoles from my friends. It made for a much better experience when you came together on a weekend and you had an NES, Sega Master system, and a C64 to pick and choose from.
Weekend swapsies was also a good way to play other games.
It’s a shame to see all this fanboy nonsense that’s happening today, I think some p...
The 360 is winding down as Microsoft’s flagship console for sure.
But it’s still got some good games coming down the pipe. I think it’s pretty clear that Microsoft are going to start marketing the 360 as a low cost, family friendly console. While launching the X3OX along side it as the high-end powerhouse.
Just like Sony did with the PS2/PS3.
I just can’t see Microsoft dropping support for the 360 cold like they did with the XBOX last gen. (A...
