Probably not, but RDR2 is a great example the realistic approach AAA storytelling is using when targetting more mature gamers, specially after The Last of Us.
Another notorious examples are God of War and Days Gone.
You’re not counting taxes if you think these people would only cost 200k, nor Nintendo and publisher’s cut on the money made, but, above all, incredibly underestimating how big “any 100.000 units sold” actually is.
Rage 2 was incredibly BAD for such nice concept and devs... Just Cause 4 I didn't even download for free.
But, regardless of perceived quality: the biggest difference between them and other studios is that they're still on business, and that probably comes from being financially responsible and chosing viable products and processes when others didn't not.
Again: They could have spent 20 millions more on any game and go the Kingdoms of Amalur way. Apparently they...
So you probably call "good" the financially irresponsible studios. Avalanche could have spent 5 times their budget on the trailer, for instance.
That's even worse... It means they actually spent money on doing the copycat.
The game is dead on arrival. It will be profitable, though, if it is bad and cheap. Why release another clone with such a talented team?
Then you can give yourself another Super Humble Award.
You are pretty much the opposite of humble when you say doing other people’s work is easy.
Also, self complimenting yourself for being... “humble” (?!) shows even more you’re the opposite.
“I can’t do anything barely decent.”
“DeVeLoPiNg a FuLl gAmE iS So EaSy.”
Then try to do it. Then try it again. Then again and again. Then make profit out of it. Then make an original game by your own.
Maybe then you can try to give a less ignorant, arrogant and stupid opinion. Remember we are talking about creating a full game, as you said, not only the content shown in the trailer.
Good luck.
Spoiler alert: I don’t like this specific game, but you won’t come even close to this.
I strongly disagree. It is cheap, well worth the money and there are great games already announced for the future.
I haven't even played all the interesting games so far.
My only grip is that it would be better with steady releases (every friday), instead of skipping a week once in a while.
Also, every subscriber I know personally is not 100%, but very satisfied with it.
Nevermind the bollocks. Don’t expect decent thoughts in a right wing gaming website.
Because often (as in the gameplay videos of this iteration as well) it leads to you shooting candies instead of strong bullets against your enemies. The hit feedback is very weak.
And your comparison doesn’t make sense. In this shooter you need 20 shots to kill a regular enemy. Are you really trying to say that in “sword rpgs” you need 20 hits to kill a mob?
Bullet spounge enemies. Yikes.
"I can't wait to see all the little geeks online crying over this one!", some nerd in another article.
Oh, wait, it's brrdat, who cries himself weak, submissive and depressed every change he has.
Can't expect too much from such a case.

"nObOdY cARES!1!11!!!!!"
That's not a rule at all. To be honest, the worst part of game design courses is not focusing enough on market.
Also it really depends on the person. Some people don't want to be employees, some others don't want a big company.
Finally... Not even CoD developers can make a top tier CoD anymore. How would amateurs do that?
You saying that gamers could get together and really boycott something is as realistic as proposing that all gamers unite to make a game better than these and give it for free.
