This is not a random comparison.
Comparing Elden Ring with GTA, RDR, any Ubisoft game or The Witcher would be extremely inaccurate.
On the other hand, ER does draw inspiration from the Breath of the Wild gameplay structure, with a very open-ended "playground" actually tied to the loose game progression and this is the link (hah) most people are doing.
