I love limited time events, specially because it puts variation and diverse, new content into the game.
Game programmer and designer here too, and, by a business perspective, "live ops" or limited time events are also an efficient way to keep players engaged.
They're pushing.
Good idea.
Google Trends is a great tool for interest measurement too...

Irrelevant. In this case it does.
@S2Killinit
I don't even hope you know what you're talking about. You sound very new to this discussion thinking you can claim the exact meaning of the term "indie".
But let's see... What exactly told me that "Housemarque is a Helsinki based independent game developer. Currently working on Returnal for the PS5"?
Their bio on Twitter.
Wanna argue with them too?
And also an indie with a $70 price tag from a company that abandoned all their latest projects immediately after release.
Certainly a MS exclusive, since the studio is owned by Bethesda.
It is a nice move by MS, but you can't "just beat Naughty Dog" whenever you choose to do.
Uncharted has ever been the best Indiana Jones game out there and, come on, does anyone really believe that it can be topped this easily?
Good luck for them though. The studio is good and it will probably be a decent title for Xbox owners. Again, a warning: don't ever expect U...

Nice "inflation" from indie to AAA price. /facepalm
Silver_Faux:
Some would simply prefer they kept true to their game, instead of (1) jumping into the generic bandwagon of battle royales (so generic that even they stated they lost their "unique selling point" during the development) and (2) overpricing their game as an AAA production to purely benefit from the lack of games in the beginning of generations.
It will be the first Housemarque game in a long time that I won't buy, at least not at this price.
First they gave up on arcade shooters in favor of doing another battle royale in a sea of battle royales.
And now this... Triple A price for their game.
Considering how they abandoned Nex Machina immediately after the launch and all this, I guess they are not even the same anymore. Wouldn't surprise me to see they jump into gachas, F2Ps and DLC heavy games in t...
I agree. The continuity between games was nice.
From a market perspective, though, since they didn't make a "huge success" with this game, I believe they would still probably sell more going to a different setting, for a "new game", than reusing nordic history.
Still haven't played the whole game, but after many hours, it absolutely feels like a great AC game, the best in a long time.
The meta, presentation and story are still pure AC. The quests and writing are much better than they were at any point I can remember.
The really big differences from their usual formula, imo, are real wide open world, the ARPG combat and the super diverse upgrade systems. All these are very good now. The combat could be bette...
They were always like this. The "good guys" narrative was never more than a marketing strategy (which, yes, we have to give them that, fooled the most of you).
Even independent reviewers... They are completely desperate for click bait writing, so IMO these are even worse. The corruption just works in a different, but similar manner.
I still stick with big names, since they at least have a career and a name to keep with minimal standards, which small blogists mostly don't care about.
You need the pendant for it.
ˆ Delusional.
So about 5-7 AAA's (luckily) and you're out of space? Ugh!

It’s not that simple.
I have seen many judgements of these disputes overruling the general case of law and cancelling orders with obvious mistakes (not to be confused with a seller change of mind).
Just look for it and you’ll find how these rules are applied in real world.
