I wanted to let you know that we have added the post date to all of our stories (in addition to them being on the front page, which is where they were before).
Thanks again for your suggestion!
That's a really good suggestion. Thank you.
I've asked our Editor-in-Chief about automatically adding date/time of postings to all of our news stories and reviews. Much appreciated!
Edit: Just looked and, on our main page, post dates and times are listed with each story. Hopefully, we'll be able to add that easily to the story pages, too.
Notorious for low reviews? If you compare us to an IGN or a Gamespot, maybe, but that's because we don't shove most of our reviews into the 7-10 range.
I'm not sure what you mean by a "real 7." Each site has their own scoring guidelines. There is no accuracy in game reviews (using the scientific definition). By this I mean that, unlike measuring distance or mass, there is no absolute definition that can be attributed to subjective scoring. Now, if you w...
Good of you to take one for the team. You must read the stuff thousands of times, though. You are the most thorough fan I've ever met.
Yeah I'm wasting a bubble to correct a type. Jeez. "Cite" not "site." This is what I get for typing this right after waking up from a nap. Ah, well. I do love that someone disagreed with me, but didn't had the stones to explain if it was the "I experienced the same problems every time I played it" part or the "we're free to disagree" part. Silly.
Thanks for reading! Glad to know you like our stuff so much that you keep coming back and commenting. You are definitely a true fan. :)
Here's the original review: http://www.ztgd.com/reviews... Not sure what link was misdirecting. Sorry about that.
I can handle the heat. You should see what some guy said about my LIMBO review. :)
Actually, if you read what I wrote, I said that I'm not a proud man. I had no problem looking like a high school girl in a slap fight. I thought it was hilarious. Hell, I s...
Barely mediocre would be a 5.0 or a 5.1. This game was boldly mediocre! Of course, the content of my review explains my position. I admitted that I had fun with it.
Oh, and there is slapping... Also, fruit shiatzu.
It's a joke. Could a real person like this actually string together enough words to make a coherent sentence?
I've seen others discussing the precision issues with the Kinect, but my main point in the review is that it is much easier to avoid bombs when you are using your finger. It is extremely difficult to navigate to slice a piece of fruit surrounded by three bombs using the Kinect, especially as the Kinect has a habit of reading every little movement as a slice.
In the iOS version, you can pick your finger up off the screen so you are guaranteed that the software won't re...
I'm glad that others are having fun with the game. My job, as a reviewer, though, is to evaluate the experience for everyone. My opinion (and that's all a review is) is that this is an enjoyable game in party settings and for kids.
You also need to understand that at ZTGD, we use the entire scale.
Here's our definition of a game in the 5 - 5.9 range:
5.0 – 5.9 (Mediocre)
The true middle of the road these games get by on ...
I agree that the game is fun with the kids and in party settings. However, the major problems with it being imprecise and horrendous menu implementation such that the Sensei's Swag menu is practically unusable are major issues.
During our review, we even had instances where the software simply stopped responding to hand motions.
I was sweating my ass off while reviewing this game. That part didn't bother me, but the game is so imprecise when compared with the iOS version.
Looks like you meant "Bad Joystick." I spoke with Cat. That site is not currently active, which is why you see a lot of relevant humor/satire pieces here on N4G.
In other words, we have done nothing wrong and you should leave the moderating to people who have earned the right and responsibility to do so.
Good point. I'll share that with our Editor-in-Chief, ZeroTolerance, who happens to be a moderator here. We're the editorial arm of N4G. You probably didn't notice that.
Given that you aren't an admin or moderator, why don't you leave the policing of N4G up to them.
That said, I would be glad to read the section that talks about satire. Couldn't seem to find it in the guidelines or site FAQ.
Thanks for being the arbiter of the Internet. Any other content out there you'd like to reassign?
Given that we're both out of bubbles, I imagine that this will end here, thankfully.
You've accused my review of being trolling. It isn't. It's honest opinion.
Instead of legitimately criticizing my review, you've resorted to your blog, which is little more than pre-trolling things you disagree with. It isn't satire.
I imagine when it was written, it was quite possible to take it as legitimate criticism of the gaming p...
There was nothing funny or satirical in your response to my review. Put simply, it was rude and a personal attack. To retreat by claiming that you were just kidding and making a joke is cowardly. Stand up and defend your concerns with my review. Be specific. What did you disagree with? Where do you think I went wrong?
Considering I didn't use the words "random," "wonky" or "tacked on" in my review and was pretty damn specific about my problem...
@Thorstein:
I respect that you may disagree with my opinion. That's fine, and I welcome your thoughts on the game and my review.
I would be interested to know what you thought was trite about it and which comments you believe to be "wonky." I'm also not sure what "random hype of my prowess as a reviewer" you are talking about.
If you'd like to have a mature conversation about the game or my review, I'd be g...
This is definitely Derek *Deebag's* opinion. He shouldn't be taken seriously... mostly because he isn't real. ;)
