Driveclub did nowhere near 1M first week, it sold 46K on it's first NPD, most likely due to reviews stating it's broken. It eventually picked up the pace worldwide after being fixed and went on to consistently chart all across Europe eventually selling over 2M worldwide.

You could make that case for Halo 5, but absolutely not for Gears 4. The PS4 and Xbox One are very close in the UK, I forget the actual numbers for them there, I'll look for them. But it's not even close to 2:1 for PS4 in UK.

They are in denial and when people are in denial they get aggressive.

The reality is they should expect better from the franchises they love, more than making every excuse they can and trying to pretend that everything is OK.

Uncharted 4 for example did 194K, which is more than Halo 5's launch week at 180K and Gears 4 launch week which is under 105K.

Realize that Uncharted is now outselling Halo and heavily outselling Gears of War....

It sold less than 100K. By clicking the link, you will see that Fifa 17 sold 105K total copies in it's 3rd week, which was more than Gears 4's 1st week. It has nothing to do with placement.

Not just at release, ever. Don't create parameters for it's acceptability. Microtransactions have no place in retail games. It doesn't matter if it's Naughty Dog, Kojima or Microsoft Studios doing it, it's wrong.

Microtransactions in retail games is never OK and it always effects the experience.

Gears being #18th after 3 days is not good. It never even made it to 1st, even on launch day. No Man's Sky was 1st for multiple days, so was Uncharted 4. Also, Forza Horizon 3 has almost dropped off the top 100 entirely. That link is not doing you any favors.

Forza Horizon 3 was the only 1st party title to launch in September aside from Recore, combined they sold 200K physical copies in the US. No Man's Sky did 500K in the US during it'...
