Just look at what happened last year....
Mario is the most recognizable by far. You don't even have to play games ever in your life to know exactly who Mario is.
This series is a powerhouse, Mario is the standard for how far brand recognition can carry you having solid core mechanics attached to it. No matter how much Nintendo messes up, they always have Mario.
It enables down-sampling which Sony weirdly hasn't really pushed and that is the most exciting part of the PS4P to me. That will instantly make games look much much better.
For people who don't know what down-sampling is, every screenshot in a press release (previews/reviews) has been down-sampled, which is why it looks much cleaner than it actually does in game.
FF7R is going to be huge for PS4 in general and has nothing to do with Scopio, I don't see how they're connected.

Well sure, it's just surprising considering Battlefront was hated on so much and BF1 was praised so much.
Battlefield 1 is a fantastic game and I do expect it to do better in the end than Battlefront.
Battlefront is not a bigger franchise than Battlefield either, unless you are referring to Star Wars in general.
It actually sold less than Battlefront which is kind of surprising.
