You don't think they might have pulled the trigger too soon? Sony and Nintendo have yet to have their respective gaming sectors experience layoffs. Hopefully this isn't a can of worms that can't be put back and hopefully Sony and Nintendo don't follow pro consumer Microsoft's example.
Wow, they are straight up lying lmao
I could have sworn recently Microsoft stated they had more MAUs in the recent earnings report. I know Sony's number was 112m and I remember MS numbers being higher because people were confused how it was possible for them to have so many. Now Microsoft is saying that Sony has double the amount of MAUs? Someone isn't telling the truth...
"Hi-Fi Rush outperformed Forspoken in it´s debut week on Steam, making more revenue for Xbox Studios while costing less than half."

"Lol. I couldn´t care less about games sales."
~Also Obscure_Observer
If GTA6 released day one on GamePass and PlayStation Plus, you think sales would be unaffected?
If it made financial sense to do so Sony would have done it. Microsoft is playing the long game. They have a certain number of subscribers that they want to hit and are taking short term loss for long term gain. Once they have that number that they want, they'll increase prices to whatever is profitable for them.
But Hi-Fi Rush!
Well this is coming from the horse's mouth so no more spinning or begging Sony to lose out on sales just because Microsoft does it themselves.
And it makes common sense anyway. There's is very little incentive to buy a game you've already played on a subscription.
"You can thanks Sony for this trend. The same way you people like to blame MS for paying to play online you can credit Sony to being the 1st console manufacturer to charge $70. Sorry if this hurts some feelings but it’s the truth…"
Interesting you say this as if you yourself personally don't blame MS for online paywall, but since others you do you might as well use it to justify blaming Sony for $70 games... interesting
It's Sony's fault! Despite 3rd parties doing it before them... Maybe if the same people that are quick to say "it's Sony's fault!" said that the first time a 3rd party publisher raised their price instead of waiting for a console manufacturer that they hate to raise their price before they complain, we wouldn't be here? Maybe...
You're not asking for numbers now, I noticed? 🤣
Doesn't Activision have their own scandal going on? Ain't stopping MS from buying them. I was speaking generally anyway.
@Orchard
I don't know why. They shouldn't be going to court for that. Don't know why they have an issue with Facebook buying VR, but in the case with Activision there is actual reasonable concern. Them trying to block a VR acquisition doesn't change the legitimacy of the Activision case.
Facebook acquiring VR doesn't affect anything.... like the Acti acquisition would... This is a more legitimate case...
These are the type of guys MS should be trying to acquire. Buy em offer them a bigger budget over time and grow them into a AAA developer. I know MS doesn't have the best track record in regards to doing that, but that should be the approach they should be looking at. Hire people with experience in growing talent instead of buying up the industry.
Good news. Really hope this doesn't go through. Would mean other big pubs like EA, Take2, etc would be safe as well from being acquired.
Why is that "worse"?
Lol the whining of gamers today. Not every game should be easy/convenient to platinum.
"If completing all of the side quests weren't already enough"
Is this person complaining about having to complete all side quests to platinum lol?
This 100%. Making a good, fun game should be at the forefront and the rest will follow. If money is the only motivation behind it then they will meet the same fate.
@Ninosan
Would be hilarious if the deal goes through and Microsoft doesn't put CoD on GP day one because they like money..... It's the number one reason why many want it to go through when asked why, well other than 'competition' I suppose..
