FF12 still had 6 out of the 9 thing you mentioned which would make it a satisfactory FF game at least.
I enjoyed 12, not as much as the ones from 10 and before, but I didn't find it bad like 13 and 13-2 which both games just piss me off like hell. Especially 13-2 because SE freaking made that POS instead of V13.

Those are the 2 rpgs I'm looking forward to also.
I was really hoping ni no kuni would have released either in Jan or Feb to get my jrpg fix now while hoping that VS13 releases by the end of this year to get another great jrpg fix at the end of the year and by that time I should've been satisfied with my time spent on ni no kuni.
The real dealbreaker is the balance. BO2 needs to be the most balanced CoD game to date. CoD fans obviously don't care about the engine as they've been buying the game with the same engine for years.

Yes I am well aware of the fact that the Vita can do more than just play games.
My point is that there are many reasons why someone would buy an ipad. A tablet can indeed be necessary for some people with regards to their job.
Gaming, on the other hand, is the MAIN reason why someone would buy a Vita and last I checked there aren't too many circumstances where a gaming handheld might be a necessity.

That other factor you speak of has to with the fact that the ipad does more than only playing games.
As for the Vita, I think that it needs more quality games. The Vita had a nice launch lineup, but those games don't a appeal to a wide variety of people.

Exactly. I remember last gen/the ps1 days, I use to buy games(full price) that I thought might potentially be good. Nowadays I only buy games(full price) that I KNOW will be good. For example I plan on buying GTA5 day one no questions asked. But titles like AC3 and Last of US(despite being made by ND) I plan on waiting several days after it releases to decide on whether or not I should pay $60 for it or wait for the price to drop.
Most(notice how I didn't say all) of the games you mentioned wouldn't make top 10 on a top 25 JRPG list for last gen. Never mind the fact that some(again I didn't say all) of the games you mentioned aren't RPGs to begin with.
The thing is, like LX mentioned, a lot of JRPGs this gen are trying to cater to western tastes which ultimately results in a poor game. You continue to ignore this though.
I recall the top JRPGs from prvious generations always being on consoles...
You need to face reality... Stop using this popular nonsense as an excuse. The reason why most JRPGs fail on consoles this gen is because the developers couldn't handle HD systems, end of.
Can't wait to play this game.
