My point is that many people that buy a game used would not have bought it for full price in the first place. If buying new was the only option people that buy games used would either wait for the price to drop or not buy the game at all. I seriously don't think sales will skyrocket if used games didn't exist.
Do people really think that used game sales are guaranteed sales if buying used wasn't an option?
I got Uncharted 2 and 1 from a friend. If it wasn't for that I would have never bought UC3(I bought the Collector's Edition by the way so it shows how much I loved UC2) or any uncharted for that matter.
If the used market goes away/gets extremely limited, only established franchises will thrive while new IPs will struggle.

If Sony really thinks that limiting used games will increase sales they are sadly mistaken. The people that buy used games are on a budget to begin with. Only a small fraction of the people that buy games used would have bought it for full price if that was their only option. Limiting used games will only make people more cautious about buying a new game.
Good luck to new IPs next gen if this is true. Only established franchises will thrive.

I don't get what the hate for GTA4 is about. I can understand being disappointed, but people act as if the entire game was terrible. I agree that GTA4 didn't deserve 10s, but the single player aspect was very good. I admit that I didn't play GTA4 much after I completed the story where as in SA I played it for years, but I still felt like I just finished playing a good game.

Well you should always be cautious about paying $60 for a game. Though AC3 sounds too awesome right now not to buy it day one. Until something questionable comes comes up I am really anticipating this game.

At the end of the day they were all great games. There's no need to debate with "what ifs." If FF8 had come first one could say the same thing about how "had FF7 came before 8" they would be saying it's the best. The way I see it you can't go wrong putting 8 above 7 or 6 above 7 or 9 above 7. It comes down to your own tastes.
I personally think FF7 is the best, but if FF8 had been on the list as the best PS1...

Metal Gear could be a good movie, but it'll have to be changed up a bit. MGS was designed around being a game therefore the story suits it well, but as a movie not so much. There isn't much error to correct if a movie were to be made though since MGS is a great story to begin with.

I don't think that many people buy a game used a couple weeks after launch. You might as well buy it new. I'm talking about down the road when buying a game used is an actual money saver.
