@jznrpg I never said it was a 100% original game concept. Far from it. I only said it needed an identity separate from Uncharted, otherwise it would always get compared directly with Uncharted.
I can almost guarantee you that the writing and acting will not even come close to Uncharted, but I'm sure I'll still enjoy it, growing up a huge Indy kid!
@Tacoboto lool right? I can understand 1 typo, but what's with the continual "Indians Jones&...
This. It needed its own identity and it's okay to like both.
This game is getting hammered bigtime on Steam. I wouldn't mind if this one sinks Incuvo after their refusal to support the PC version of Green Hell VR with the expansions + co-op, and only showing support for the smaller, graphically inferior Quest version.
I hope the decision to go 1st person allows them to bring this game to VR at a later date. That could be amazing, and Bethesda has been a big supporter of VR since the beginning.
I couldn't edit my comment in time, but I must clarify that the game itself looks great. While I would have originally thought 3rd person too, I actually like the bold choice to go 1st person.
I think what's exciting about this being brought to the gaming world is that we can enjoy younger Indy now again instead of being bound to Geriatric Jones in film form. I'll definitely be playing this.
I'm sorry, but I keep accidentally reading it as Indiana Jones and the Great Circle Jerk. It just feels like an incomplete title and my corrupted brain keeps filling in the missing piece. 😩
"But its peak was December 2021, with 48 million subscribers, and it is gradually decreasing." False. It hit a big post-Covid decline in 22, and has been gradually rising again since.
PS Plus numbers for Dec 23 haven't been released yet, but we literally just got the news last week at CES that monthly active users hit an all time record of 123 million in December.
At least wait to spout your doom and gloom after we get the December numbers:...
Now this makes me feel old! I remember playing the beta while I worked at Gamestop. I honestly didn't even know this game was still online! A quick search showed that it's even F2P now, so I may check it out for nostalgia's sake.
I only subbed at launch for 1-2 months bc I was already caught up in WoW at the time. I love the LotR universe though and would like to see how it's being handled these days.
Lego Worlds needs a new entry so bad. The complexity of visual building options is way beyond Minecraft, but it was all superficial. It didn't have the depth of world, materials, ability create machines etc. It was also extremely glitchy, but I saw huge potential in it and I still play it with my kids to this day.
I can only imagine what they could do with it it now in 2024 if given the appropriate love and care.
The fact that you can use the original tank controls or improved controls w a switch in the settings is pretty awesome. Also switching graphics to original/remastered, bc that's not really something that you see often in remasters today which I wish more studios did. I like to compare the experience on the fly, so kudos to them for doing this.
Naughty Dog also confirmed to be developing the new IP's remaster.
I kid, I kid... but seriously, I'm excited to see what they bring to the table. TLOU2 was controversial in its storytelling, but I loved it and nobody can complain about the combat gameplay. It was stellar.... which makes the Factions cancellation all the more disappointing bc it could have become a top tier MP experience. I'm not THAT big on MP, but I loved the first Factions and definitely woul...
Right? And if I've learned anything is to not buy their games at launch, ever, because they plummet in price faster than any other major 3rd party studio that I can think of.
@Terry_B and Level5/Sony's Dark Cloud!
Man, you've got me salivating at the idea of any one of these getting a proper sequel!
Been sitting here all morning playing Golden Sun for the first time in 15 or so years. So good still like a warm, fuzzy nostalgic blanket! Especially in this winter cold and a nice hot coffee. 🥰
Maybe Nintendo will use today's release of Golden Sun 1&2 on NSOnline to drum up interest in the series again. I loved part 1 back in the day, only ever got a handful of hours into part 2 and never really heard many people talk about part 3 on DS. Sounds like the series kind of went out on a whimper.
But, jrpgs are more popular than ever now and Nintendo already showed they could turn Xenoblade Chronicles into a huge selling success. Golden Sun would be the perfect...
I couldn't update the story after 2 days posted, but this site was wrong. It's the 17th, not the 16th
@Tacoboto ok thanks for that clarification. I saw no mention of that in this review. It only mentions 60fps.
How is it a better framerate though? The existing version of TLOU2 was already given a 60 fps update quite a while back on PS5.
Still, I don't mind dropping only $10 for the other stuff. Anything higher would have been a no-go.
I had wanted to try Tiny Tina's Wonderlands for quite a while now, but couldn't quite get myself to throw the money down on it yet before other games. I'm happy to see this one hit particularly.
I left a job at a game studio this last year bc I was regularly being encouraged to use Midjourney to generate concepts as well as Marketing materials.I was heavily painting into them, reworking them so a portion of it was mine... but a portion of it was not.
At first, I didn't understand why I fell into a depression... I felt like my soul was being sucked away. I didn't understand the technology, and the more I learned, the guiltier and more dead I felt inside.
